With easy access from the A12 and A14, plus 12 acres of peaceful natural land to its name, Low Farm Campsite is an excellent spot for an easy escape in a splendid Suffolk setting. This lovely location is part of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, and the owners of the site are doing their bit to preserve the local landscapes by returning their farmland to nature. As part of that approach, the guest areas have been designed to sit nicely in the natural setting, with plenty of space so that you’ll never feel crammed in even if the place is full. The idea here is to create peaceful, simple experiences, and with that in mind the owners have set the place up as an adults-only site with just the essential facilities – guests have access to toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re kept on a leash on site – the area’s footpaths and open spaces mean you shouldn’t struggle to find a place for a good walk (whether you’ve got a dog or not). You’re allowed to set up a barbecue here if you’d like to do some outdoor cookery, but there are also a couple of pubs within walking distance serving up good food for those times when you don’t feel like it. Also within easy walking distance is a river beach on the River Deben, with boat trips available. Woodbridge (10 minutes’ drive) and Ipswich (20 minutes) are also close by for shops and places to eat.

喜欢 One of my favourite campsites I've ever stayed at, the wildlife area was very well kept with so many spaces to choose from whether you want to be tucked away in the trees/bushes or out in the open, and plenty of room for everyone to be respectful of each others areas even on this height of summer weekend.
The toilets and showers were always clean, and proper showers! Not the usual push a button every 30seconds jobs you usually get!
Also enjoyed a nice 15-20minute walk to the beautifully located Maybush pub down by the river for breakfast. Perfect.

不喜欢 Nothing really to dislike and being picky but a mirror in the shower would be useful.

喜欢 Absolutely lovely site! Massive open spaces, was very nice to feel like no one was camping right on top of you. It was nice to have the space for garden games.

The showers and toilets were always spotless.

The walk to the local pub took around 15 minutes. The pub is right on the river and the food and drink is gorgeous.


We had a fantastic time at this Campsite and would love to return again next year!

喜欢 Variation of pitches in the wildlife area are great. Lovely hot showers and plenty of them. Toilets a little dated but kept immaculately clean throughout our 4 nights there. Very peaceful and quiet by 11pm kept by all.

不喜欢 No where to place your wash items on in the toilet area only hooks inside the toilets themselves. Perhaps some shelves and hooks above the sinks would be useful.

喜欢 I love this site. It’s my third stay since first discovering it in June It’s clean , it’s so pretty ( even with the burnt grass from the sun ) and it’s relaxing. The perfect place to unwind and chill
Two great pubs to walk to , the fox and the Maybush, across fields and along the river
The hosts are so lovely and can’t do enough for you

Works by Constable and Gainsborough are among the highlights of the art collection at the 16th-century Christchurch Mansion, just north of the town centre in Ipswich (20 minutes' drive). Restaurants and bars line the redeveloped Ipswich Waterfront, where it’s also possible to go on boat trips along the River Orwell. Discovered in 1939, the burial ground at National Trust - Sutton Hoo (20 minutes) yielded an Anglo-Saxon warrior’s boat grave laden with precious artefacts, from an ornate helmet to intricate gold jewellery and gemstones. Most of the treasure is now in London’s British Museum, but there are replicas here, plus a tower to survey the burial ground from above. Fancy a little water-based action? Head to Alton Water Sports Centre (25 minutes), where you can have a go at paddleboarding, hire a canoe to explore this large reservoir, or bounce and slide on the inflatables at the water park. Alton Water also has a couple of fishing spots, bird hides and viewpoints.
