Or might you prefer wandering peaceably around the park's splendid woodland setting and woodland walk...?

The kids are sorted too – always an amicable option on holiday – with an adventure playground to keep them swinging about for hours, and the arts and crafts, karaoke, disco and outdoor activities of the kids' club which runs on weekends and during school holidays (small charge applies).

    Nice facilities,well kept, clean site.

    Disliked:

Offhand reception staff, often talking and ignoring holiday makers. I appreciate it was near the end of the season, but the staff were frosty, bordering on rude! Women's showers, no hot water, difficult steps for anyone not part mountain goat. When we queried no hot water in women's showers was told "they've had a look at them"! However, we would have preferred that they had been fixed ! Three days is a long time to go without a shower. We had no offer of a refund or compensation, merely told "oh, you can always use the men's showers", not a satisfactory solution, in our opinion !

The pod was nice and it was really peaceful at night- no parties etc.
the facilities is what you expect when you are glamping and the setting was pretty.
when you got into the pool it was lovely and the kids had a blast

    Disliked:

The reason we have scored low was:
    * We went for the fact that there was a swimming pool, however we could only book a single 1 hour slot - for the whole day. which you could only book on the morning of. so you could not even have a lazy morning. So that was VERY disappointing especially for the children. Also the pool closed at 4pm.. when you are on holiday you don't want restrictions on the swimming.
    * the food was hit and miss. One of the meals the burger was cold, but because the service was sooo slow we were too hungry to complain.
    * and as mentioned before the Service was really slow - we waited over an hour after placing our order to getting the food.
    * the water pressure in the showers was not good.

Really nice camping pods. Everything was clean and tidy. Beautiful outlook over the lake which was great for the fishers. Toilet and shower blocks were kept clean and there were always staff going around to make sure everything was in check and telling people when to turn there music down late at night.

    Disliked:

Clubhouse was a little tired but functional. Arcades run off cards that you have to tap and play- because of this the kids decided they wouldn’t use the arcades

Stunning venue with some excellent views. Really made you feel like you were on holiday. Loads for kids to do and fishing lakes are brilliant with lots of space.
What staff that were working were helpful, chatty and friendly

    Disliked:

Not enough staff rostered on to work in the restaurant meaning that service was terribly slow and long queues. Not their fault, management issue.
The outdated method of having to physically go the swimming pool every morning to queue for 30 minutes to book. This could be done via an app, online or a telephone system.

The pod was very clean, a good size for 3 of us staying and bed was comfy

Kids had fun in the arcade but could do with a few more games where possible

Large fields for the dogs to go in

    Disliked:

The toilet/shower block was clean but could do with an upgrade as the showers were not very powerful and needed descaling and not sure how often it was attended to through the day but maybe could do with being checked a bit more often for loo roll top ups etc

    Had to pay for wifi

Certain areas of the pool side were green and could do with a jet wash

Local attractions

After they've whirled around on site for a while, take the kids to the coast at Aldeburgh (20 minutes' drive) or Southwold (25 minutes) for days on the beach, buying freshly caught fish on the sands and enviously eyeing up the beach huts.

Walberswick (25 minutes) is also well worth a look, to birdwatch among its heath and marshlands, catch crabs on its beach or to take the ferry across the Blyth back to Southwold; you might spy some celebrity residents in this popular town too...

Both Felixstowe and Lowestoft are each within 45 minutes for additional Suffolk seaside trips; some time should be spent at Lowestoft for the Pleasurewood Theme Park too – and from there one can move onto the seaside at Great Yarmouth, an hour from the site, and the rest of the Norfolk coast or the Suffolk and Norfolk Broads.

Closer to home, take a trip to fab Framlington Castle (15 minutes) – where Mary Tudor was proclaimed queen, fact fans – and to Orford Castle (25 minutes), both managed by English Heritage and both rather spectacular.

See also, for wildlife-loving sprogs, the 2,000+ residents at Norfolk's Banham Zoo, just over an hour away, and walking among the parrots, mammals and reptiles of African safari park Africa Alive! at Kessingland (30 minutes), a colourful day out sure to have them squawking.
