Limpenhoe Lakes: Mown camping pitch with firepit

General

  • Adults-only pop-up farm site in the Norfolk Broads
  • Reedham 10 minutes' drive; Norwich 25 minutes
  • Four on-site fishing lakes with day tickets available

Pick a pitch by the water at Limpenhoe Lakes, a pop-up campsite in the Norfolk Broads. Set on a working farm with an abundance of wildlife, this site has four fishing lakes where angling fans can book day fishing for a small extra charge.

The site is shared with permanent residents including sheep and cattle. Each pitch comes with a firepit and a starter pack of firelighters and wood (more fuel can be purchased if needed).

One compost toilet is available at the far end of the furthest lake. One tap is on hand for fresh water. Parking is in a designated area with a pedestrian gate giving access to the site.

Because there is so much water around, Limpenhoe Lakes is an adults-only site.

Please note

This site has no on-site shower facilities.

Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.

Minimum spacing of 20 metres between pitches.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Facilities/activities including Fishing & extra firewood are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

We liked it so much we have been 2weekends in row. it is so peaceful and relaxing. We liked the owner Pat he was so helpful and would do anything he could to help. He showed us a lovely walk to get to the Reedcutters, a very friendly pub/restaurant by the river where we spent our evenings. If you like wild camping/fishing I would highly recommend this place.

Great location for exploring the Norfolk Broads. The campsite is situated on a picturesque sheep farm surrounded by fishing ponds. I saw a heron and swans from my pitch. Each pitch has it's own fire pit and wood was provided which was great.

Lovely stay that felt like wild camping but with some luxuries such as a toilet and the car being nearby. Wheelbarrow was provided to help carry your things to your pitch and there were six pitches to choose from, all with plenty of space and a fire pit. Fire wood was provided which was a nice touch and it was nice and quiet at night - apart from the cows you could hear in the background! The field is shared with the sheep which were very cute and no bother at all.
This isn’t your typical campsite as it’s essentially a sheep field with some lakes and a loo. But it was ideal for us!

= ?freight train line breaks the tranquility infrequently
= Other campers may find pitches a little uneven with a closed-cell foam pad for a comfortable sleep. Air inflated sleeping pad recommended.

    - no instructions in check-in shed for campers so we were a bit unsure of guidance and pitching rules upon arrival. Owner arrived shortly after ours and stated we were first visitors and he would be adding some notes to the check-in shed for future campers.

From the manager...

Thank you for the feedback and for visiting us , I have now put some simple instructions inside the shed to help visitors on arrival now..🐑🐏🐑

Beautiful location, peace and quiet and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. We shared the field with one other tent and a herd of sheep so no crowds or noisy neighbours, just the odd fisherman using the lakes. Well situated for exploring the Broads and a nice walk along footpath to the riverside pub.

    Disliked:

Long walk to water tap and lacking a rubbish bin. Also car parking is separate from the camping area and lack of a decent wheel barrow made pitching hard work.

From the manager...

Thank ewe for the feedback, a new wheel barrow is on its way 😀
