Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: A lovely location, it felt so quiet on the camping field yet a lovely cafe on site and our dog had the best time with half an hour at the secure dog field one day and then being able to be off lead in the secure social field. Nothing seemed too much trouble and the facilities were clean at all times.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: A fabulous site. Tidy, peaceful and dog-friendly. Small field, which I like, and simple toilet and shower. If I’d planned ahead, there were other activities on site for the dog and also a little cafe.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: This was a very peaceful site we really enjoyed looking at the Centre Paws activity centre for the dogs even though we didn’t have any dogs and the farm cafe was a bonus We will definitely go back Please make sure you follow the instructions on how to get there and not make the silly mistake we did and use the sat nav 🙈😂

Electric grass pitch

Liked: This is a really fantastic place to stay. We really enjoyed ourselves. The campsite its self is very spacious and quiet. There are two toilets which were really clean, as well as two showers. One on the camping grounds and one behind the cafe. There's also a drinking tap with hose at the far side of the field which you can use to fill the water up in your van. There are fire pits available to borrow for free you just need to buy your own wood. Don't know if they sell it on site, we got ours from the shops. We also took the opportunity to take our dog swimming in their doggy pool. It cost us £16 for a 30 minute pool party session. Again the staff were fab and our doggo really enjoyed it. There's also a huge secured field where the doggo can play. The nearest town is only a 20 minute walk away and has some nice pubs and restaurants. People in the reviews were moaning about having to walk 2 minutes to go and wash up their dishes. Honestly I think people need to chill. Yes it's a very small walk but by no means an inconvenience. Some people were also moaning they didn't see the owner. Neither did we, we spoke to her on the phone and couldn't care less, was super friendly and a really easy check-in. Overall 10/10, keep up the great work.

Liked: Very large pitches. Field for dogs to run off lead. Toilets and showers are on site and some near cafe. Basic but ok

Disliked: Washing up was off field near cafe. Could do with a sink on site.. also need a hook in shower to hang clothes

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: I stayed here with my sister, no option for that in the drop down list, whilst visiting family members in Norfolk and having a bit of a holiday. It was a lovely site, just what we needed. Not too busy, not noisy apart from one family on their first night - I think it was excitement! We loved that you are left alone and get as much room as you could hope for. The outdoor shower makes you feel like you are truly in nature and we loved it. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a brilliant, clean and well thought out place to stay.

Disliked: Nothing , it is perfect. - Although it would be nice to have a washing up sink near the field/toilet block. (Just a wishful thought for future development.)

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Nice pitches with lots of space for non-electric campers. Loved the animals and goats right next to our tent. Nice and peaceful with their reasonable quiet times. And very close to the main town only a 5 minute drive. Definitely would come again !

Disliked: There’s nothing we disliked just some small things we thought may be better, when paying £25 a night. Small toilets with not so powerful solar lights on a very short timer. And the washing up sink being on the other side of the camp site to where people are camping so ended up not using. No interaction from owners, the phone call was the only conversation or interaction we had.

Local attractions

Flick through the history books… the two towers of the Benedictine Wymondham Abbey (five minutes' drive) aren’t hard to spot from afar – and there’s fab architecture inside too. For other trips back to times past, you could travel along the Mid Norfolk Railway (five minutes) or nosy around Norwich (20 minutes) to look at the cathedral, castle, market and Bridewell Museum. For activities that will take you to the trees, Thetford Forest Park (35 minutes) is all about those peaceful forest walks and picnics by the river – or, for those more adventurous types, Go Ape Thetford (40 minutes) will give you a birds’ eye view of the forest from the obstacle course and zipwires in the treetops. Whether you’re a big kid or you’ve got ones of your own, there are plenty more family-friendly activities around these parts. Perhaps a zoo day at Banham Zoo (25 minutes) or catching a show at the Norfolk Showground (15 minutes)? Boating on the Norfolk Broads (half an hour) or daring to go on the dinosaur-themed rides at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure (25 minutes)?
