  • Family-friendly Norfolk coast site with views of beach and salt marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Wells-next-the-Sea; 15 minutes to Holkham Hall
  • Next to the coast path, a short walk from Stiffkey shop and pub
Set off to the north Norfolk coast and a splendid Stiffkey location set between the saltmarshes and the beach – High Sand Creek Campsite has been a popular seaside retreat since the early 1970s, and with a location like this it’s easy to see why… Book a pitch here and you’ll be staying right by the coastal path on the edge of the pretty village of Stiffkey, between Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea. It’s all big skies, wildlife-rich saltmarsh views and natural entertainment around here, with plenty of woodlands and creeks to explore as well as some gorgeous beaches. The site’s setup is a traditional one, with handy amenities like toilets, showers, chemical disposal, a launderette and a washing-up area but no noisy entertainment or fancy facilities. Dogs and kids are welcome, and there’s plenty of space on the pitches to get set up just how you like it. Getting out to explore should be straightforward from here, with things like Morston seal-spotting trips and the fabulous beach at Holkham within easy reach. There's also a little maritime museum on site to tell you a little bit about the history of the place. The edge-of-village location is a handy bonus here as well, as it means it’s just a short walk to the local pub (serving food all day), a shop and a café, plus bus stops for picking up Coasthopper services to other destinations along the shoreline.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Laid back vibe, extremely peaceful, surrounded by amazing nature. Great walks around the salt marshes. Lots of hustory to uncover on the site too, as it was a training camp for the army years ago, theres also a small maritime museum open Sundays, worth a look! Just a perfect site!

Disliked: Facilities basic but not at all an issue, functional and clean.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: The shower facilities were excellent. The field was nice, quite natural even though pitches were electric. I don’t like camp sites that are very formalised. This was just right for us.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Peaceful campsite. Very clean facilities. Nice sunset. Easy off road walk to the local pub and stores. Good access to the coast path, nearby towns and attractions.

Disliked: We felt that the pictures on the website are misleading with regards proximity to the sea. We couldn't see the sea for our entire 5 day stay. There is no WiFi on site and whilst it doesn't say there is on the website, it also doesn't state that there isn't. For us, this wasn't too much of a problem but feel it could be for other families. We also didn't like the fact that we had to pay 30 pence for each ice pack that we wanted to be frozen-we've never been asked to do this at any other campsite. We were also unable to access them unless the office was open. Some of the ground on our pitch was very hard and we bent several rock nails and broke a mallet!

From the manager: Hi Thankyou for the review your pitch was next to the stewards accommodation we can see the sea clearly however I must point out that you visited at the lowest tide height of the month and it always pays to do the research the pictures on the website are realistic and unmanipulated, the tide does come in that far very often and it is unreasonable to ask nature to align with your visit We have had many discussions over WiFi I am working on the technical issues related to it The ice blocks do not cover the costs related to providing the service we can't keep the office open just for that service
