  • Farm site just north of Norwich
  • Seven acres of flat and well-drained land
  • Communal covered firepit area
Reach for the skies and enjoy a stopover at Top Farm Caravan and Camping Site where you can experience dizzy new heights among the woodland of the Norfolk countryside. The aptly-named farm is just north of Norwich in the small town of Marsham, 20 minutes from the pretty Norfolk coast. It’s been owned by generations of the same family and you’ll feel on top of the world during your stay: seven acres of well-drained, flat land and views of the Norfolk countryside to make for some very happy guests... Keep your feet on the ground with a stroll into the woodlands of Marsham Heath, which back on to the campsite. Top-notch facilities include a dishwashing area and a well-maintained toilet block with an equally well-looked after separate shower block, all with plenty of hot water. A chemical waste disposal point, fridge/freezer and a communal covered area with firepit and chiminea are also ready for guests to use.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Delightful and incredibly helpful host, who could not be more obliging and thoughtful.
We enjoyed a peaceful setting, with views of the surrounding fields, farms and countryside. We enjoyed the easy walk over to the Plough Inn, at Marsham village.
We had excellent kayaking on the River Bure - and are looking forward to returning, and definitely to stay again at Top Farm.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The welcome we received when we arrived onto site. Shown around and led to where our group had pitches. Very generous pitch sizes, and space between other groups.
Facilities kept clean.
Recommendations received for walks and for dinner out.
Was also nice to be checked on before we left to ensure we didn't have any issues.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The scenery was beautiful and the facilities were clean.

Disliked The patronising mansplaining walk through the campsite and how to use the shower was pretty unnecessary. Maybe ask if people require it first rather than assume they’re incompetent as this comes across as being condescending.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nice and peaceful site if you just want to relax owners very friendly and helpful did not bother us at all while we were there.
A shame about the site being so far away from the village and no near public transport available because with a Motor home you are restricted to the site unless you pack everything up but as I said if you just want to relax then this is the place to stay with nice walks if you are up to it.

Disliked No public transport near by shame you can’t use call connect.

Local attractions

Less than half an hour from the coast, the five beaches closest to Top Farm will all have you diving in feet first to their top-quality bathing water. You’ll be on just the right track with little locomotive enthusiasts as you chug along to the Bure Valley Railway - Norfolk’s longest 15-inch gauge line. The 18-mile round trip runs from Aylsham to Wroxham and back and you can get aboard at either stop (each are around 30 minutes in the car north or south of Top Farm). Controllers-in-the-making will be steaming with delight as they spot the wildlife in the rivers and meadows along the way; the cycle and walking trail which runs alongside the line is a rail treat too. Go wild at BeWILDerwood 13 miles away, for a creepy-crawlingly good day: this is the Norfolk Broads as you’ve never seen before... from treehouses to tricky tunnels and storybook characters young bookworms will be wriggling to meet, the intriguing characters hanging around the BeWILDerwood forest put an interesting ‘folk’ into Norfolk, and kids will be desperate to get exploring. Thorpe Marshes is 30 minutes south by car where you can spy species of damsel- and dragonfly and Cockshoot Broads, around half an hour to the east, is brilliant for birdspotters. A 15-minute drive northward is Blickling, a National Trust property which will have historians hankering to find out more about the area. The Muddy Boots café on site means everyone’s invited for a scone, no matter how you get there…
