  • Luxury glamping in rural Norfolk
  • Half an hour's drive from Norwich and the Norfolk coast
  • Private shower room and undercover dining and kitchen in each unit

You'll want to keep this site firmly under wraps…. Keepers Meadow is a cosy and luxury glamping retreat in a remote and secluded part of Norfolk, hidden away enough for proper peace but only half an hour from both Norwich and the Norfolk coast.

Accommodation at this swish site is in bell tents, set just off the banks of the River Bure. Each is colourfully and immaculately kitted out to hotel standards and includes lighting, crockery, rugs, duvets, pillows and outdoor furniture. A well-equipped and spotless shower room, kitchenette and dining area for each tent are a short walk away for exclusive use.

Keepers Meadow's peaceful location is off the main tourist track and is well placed for a topping selection of country walks, canoe trails and cycle routes: the owners can arrange bike and canoe hire if needed, as well as river fishing, all within minutes' walk. The nine-gauge Bure Valley Railway is a 10-minute walk away.

Please note

Facilities/activities including canoe hire, cycle hire and fishing are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

Another great holiday at Keeper’s Meadow! We booked the whole site again - how lovely having all the family together to share the fun! We really love this site, the facilities are amazing and the hosts Gary, Michelle and Ethan are superb - nothing is too much trouble. They rescued us 3 times in the first afternoon! Getting lost, forgotten milk etc! We have already booked for next year - think it will now become an annual holiday!
Beautiful tents again this year, the children loved their specially selected bed linen - Michelle thinks of everything. Fab shower rooms and so warm in the cooler early mornings.
We had a really great time canoeing down the river on saturday afternoon - we all loved it! Our two 3 years olds sat still for 2 hours enjoying the trip. Barbecue around the campfire in the evening followed by a glass of wine and toasted marshmallows! So relaxing!
Very disappointed children when we had to leave!
Can’t thank our hosts for their amazing glamping site and fantastic hosting! Roll on next year!!

Brilliant stay in beautiful surroundings in bell tents. The facilities ... 23/04/2018

Brilliant stay in beautiful surroundings in bell tents. The facilities were very well equipped and extremely clean and it was a very peaceful area. Great place to bring friends and family alike.

Most enjoyable was how accommodating the owners were, nothing was too much trouble and you only had to ask. They gave advice and were very friendly. They thought of so many personal touches and it was a wonderful stay. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

    Disliked:

The only thing I will say is we got lost trying to find the site! We had to ring and ask for directions which was fine but maybe some signposts to look out for? Although maybe it would be better to keep this place a secret!!

There was nothing I disliked about this stay, even the weather was on our side.

From the manager...

Thank you so much for the review Anna. So glad you ladies had a lovely weekend and so pleased we were able to help make your stay more comfortable.. please let us know what you thought of the new bed. We'd love to see you all again whether together or with your families maybe? Take care :-)

Best site I've ever been to. 13/08/2017

The owners have thought of everything and provided it to make your stay very comfortable. You only need to take your clothes a waterproof and a pair of wellies incase of wet weather.
Having your own shower room with an airer whilst camping is so luxurious.
The kitchen has everything needed, there is even a microwave in the washing up area.
    All facilities spotlessly clean.
We unfortunately had lots of rain but having the wood burner made the stay warm and cosy. The owners even come and lay the fire and light it for you if needed. If you have good weather you could just enjoy the campsite and do lots of walk in the surrounding countryside. Children will love the woods and all the space to run around.

    Disliked:

Long way from main roads, down a farm track.

Liked the intimacy of the site, in a great location ... 07/08/2017

Liked the intimacy of the site, in a great location near to River Bure, where we could go canoeing. Also good access to many other attractions around the area. Great hosts who went out of their way to make sure everything was as expected. Very clean, high standard accommodation especially considering it is basically a campsite.

    Disliked:

The mattresses on the bunk beds are a bit thin particularly for larger, older children.

From the manager...

Thank you for your review Linda. Great to have you enjoying some of our local history and places of natural beauty.. wish we had been a bit more knowledgeable..
Wish you had mentioned the mattresses whilst you were here.. we are in the process of replacing them as we suspect they are leaking air.
Would love to see you all again some time.

Local attractions

Keepers Meadow's peaceful setting has it well placed for days out of all description, whether you want to leave the car behind or drive a short distance to city or coast. Many public footpaths and cycle paths are accessible straight from the site; hire a bike from the owners if you haven't brought your own two wheels.

The nearby River Bure is an excellent spot for angling; for more, a fishery with access to over three miles of banks is nearby at Oxnead.

For a scenic puff through the Norfolk countryside, Norfolk's longest narrow gauge heritage railway the Bure Valley Railway is a ten-minute walk from the site at Buxton station. It runs through nine miles of Broads countryside via 17 bridges between Aylsham and Wroxham.

Norwich city centre is 30 minutes by car and the Norfolk coast is within 25 minutes.
