Head off to the glorious Norfolk coast and an equally glorious glamping stay at a secluded spot just over a mile from Mundesley beach. Holly's Haberdashery is a family-friendly glamping site where a single six-metre bell tent sits in its own garden close to ancient woodlands. The tent sleeps up to five, and your group will have the run of the place while you’re here, with sole use of all facilities. That includes your own bathroom (with hot shower and flushing toilet), a covered dining area and a kitchen with gas hob, toaster and open fire cooking (plus lots of handy bits ranging from tea towels to dried herbs). This spot 10 minutes’ drive from North Walsham is a great location for getting out to explore Norfolk’s coast, countryside and assorted attractions. Cromer, Blakeney and the Norfolk Broads are all easily accessed from here, or you could take days out in Norwich or places like BeWILDerwood. You may well fancy spending a fair amount of time just hanging around on site, though – perhaps relaxing on a sun lounger or in a hammock, using the games and books provided in the tent or having a go at building a campfire (firewood and fire starters are available on site for a small charge). Much of what you’ll need is provided for you at this site to make life nice and easy – the tent has electricity, wifi and a log burner, plus lots of handy little touches including towels and toiletries. You can also hire the site’s bikes or kayaks for a bit of local exploration.

Local attractions

First stop from here should be the lovely beach at Mundesley – it’s a big long sandy stretch with classic beach huts and safe waters for swimming or paddling. Elsewhere along the coast, try your luck crabbing from the pier in Cromer (15 minutes’ drive) or head up to Blakeney (40 minutes) for a boat tour to see England’s largest colony of grey seals. For some different watery views, take a day out in the Norfolk Broads. Wroxham (20 minutes) is a good place to start for boat tours, canoe hire and other watersports like paddleboarding. The town is also home to Wroxham Miniature Worlds and the farm animals of Wroxham Barns. Just outside Wroxham, BeWILDerwood Norfolk (20 minutes) is a fine option for a family day out exploring things like Boggle Village, Wobbly Wires and Treetop Tangles, or you could head for the thrill rides and animal shows of Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park (50 minutes).

Bell tent

Liked: This was an unexpected joy - a little oasis near the coast, perfect glamping experience with all the necessities, comfy beds and a fab bathroom with a hot shower. We felt completely at home and could really relax in front of the fire.

Disliked: A welcome from the host and intro to the facilities would have been nice - we felt a little like we were intruding on the family. Also some better lighting for the tent. Otherwise, cannot fault the stay!
