  • Friendly and simple site a short walk from the river in Loddon
  • Great Yarmouth and BeWILDerwood within a half-hour drive
  • Pubs, cafés, shops and bus stops within a few minutes' walk
What’s it to be for your Norfolk break – beach days, country walks, boating around the Broads, active adventures, city strolls, sipping cider in the pub? Mix and match as you please when you stay at Loddon Oasis Camping, a simple and friendly site in the little town of Loddon. This attractive little riverside town is a fabulously convenient one for all sorts of days out, so you should never want for things to do while you're staying here. And the site’s setting is very handy too, within just a few minutes' walk of the town’s shops, cafés, pubs, bus stops and other amenities. Dogs are welcome on site, and there’s plenty of space nearby for them (and you) to stretch legs on a riverside walk. If you're not feeling quite so active, settle on the riverbank for a bit of fishing. This small and simple site prides itself on being a friendly place with a great community spirit. Families, couples and solo adventurers are all equally welcome, and will be encouraged to rest and unwind in this lovely chilled-out location. Barbecues are permitted for those who fancy a bit of outdoor cookery, although it should be noted that there’s a fish and chip shop just over the road… As a fuss-free site, the facilities have been kept on the simple side, but you'll have access to essentials like toilets, showers and picnic tables.

Liked Loved it! Perfect space and place for us to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Time out from our cluttered lives where we spend so much time trying to help and support others. Minimal facilities but we prefer it that way. Almost wild camping within reach of the high street!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked This ‘campsite’ is located within a field directly next to a ‘marina’. A small non electric camping area is located off the rough track leading down to the marina. Likely get about 6 tents in here. The downside to camping here is everyone accessing the marina or the public footpath uses the track next to where you camp which meant it wasn’t peaceful. Likewise lots of people coming and going throughout the night which led to many restless nights sleep. Didn’t feel at all secure. One of the local pubs is right next to this field and again noise and music was an issue, depending who was in the beer garden.
The marina owners should be ashamed of themselves as the place resembles a scrapyard and you are surrounded by it. What a pity as I’m sure with some work the whole area could be vastly improved. It’s a complete and utter eyesore.
The toilets & shower have been newly fitted and were clean. However, the materials used will not last. The floor in the shower area was already showing signs of collapse due to water ingress and poor materials used. A little more spent using proper materials would make more sense long term. Nettles around the site in general resulted in children getting stung feet. During our stay the bin was completely overflowing with bags of rubbish around it and no attempt was made to empty it or tidy up the area.
The site is located in the centre of Loddon with shops, chippy, takeaways and pubs galore along with being at one end of the Norfolk Broads so you have access to the broads.
We would not stay here again. Camping in the Norfolk Broads also seems expensive for what you get. We had just had a week in Devon for the same price as Loddon and the facilities in Devon were 5* plus!!

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Fantastic location plenty of take aways within a few minutes walk and it's a very cute village with a Co Op and small grocery shop right on your doorstep. The site is very rustic with not very level pitches just in a field but for a stop over on our way to Calais it was great 😃. Friendly owners and friendly campers what more do you need.

Disliked Showers are a bit dated and my husband said the water pressure was shocking so I used our shower 😂

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Loddon Campsite is right at the heart of Loddon Village where there is plenty of choice of take-aways, pubs, a good size coop and other stores.

Disliked We knew the site was basic from the details and previous reviews. The ground was rough and uneven. We were there at a Bank Holiday weekend when the site was full and the two toilets and one shower just weren’t enough. At least the facilities were kept clean throughout the day.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Plenty of room; toilets were very clean and close to our motorhome. {I am disabled, so it was much appreciated}. The site owners/managers were very friendly and helpful. The proximity to the village and its amenities was great.

Disliked The field was very bumpy which wouldn't have mattered, except my husband was pushing me in a wheelchair. Nobody's fault though!

Local attractions

One of the major draws in Norfolk is The Broads National Park – and you'll easily be able to explore the waterways from here, perhaps hiring a boat from Loddon Marina or canoes from Beccles (15 minutes' drive). Walks and bike rides are equally rewarding in these landscapes, and there are loads of woodland activities and adventures to throw into the mix at BeWILDerwood Norfolk (half an hour). The coast is just as enticing of course; top spots nearby include Great Yarmouth (25 minutes) for an action-packed day at the beach and amusements, or Winterton-on-Sea (40 minutes) for a quieter wander through the dunes. Heading inland instead, Norwich (25 minutes) has a castle and cathedral, plus lots of indie shops and places to eat. Keeping the kids busy should be a cinch around here, what with the likes of Africa Alive (25 minutes), Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park (half an hour) and Pettitts Animal Adventure Park (35 minutes) to visit. For grownup days, try Chet Valley Vineyard (five minutes), Henstead Exotic Gardens (20 minutes) or Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum (20 minutes).
