Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Clean site - easy walk into village with nice hotel we could eat in, and coop. Lovely toilets and shower and washing up facilities.

Disliked Not at all the fault of the campsite but we were next to a couple who had their TV on very loudly at night. Spoilt our experience as we were hoping for peace and quiet!

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Just what we needed - a quiet and relaxing stay at a fantastic site. The fishing was outstanding with 2 lovely carp on day 1 and 3 clonking Rudd on day 2. Pity the bream didn’t want to play but that just means we’ll have to be back!
Oh and the White Hart’s food is outstanding.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Idyllic, pretty and quiet adults only site! Kitchen wash up area has paid for washing machine, tumble dryer, iron. It has a few fridge freezers too! Friendly owners. When you arrive check the small blackboard to see your pitch no. if owners are busy. The wild part is further over where we were and had a surprise of our own stand pipe for water, very convenient. Lovely walks around the camp, safe for dogs. Also the village of Hingham is a 10-15 min walk or 5 min bike ride on paths. There is a cricket club with exercise equipment outside you can walk to, just 2 mins walk from site. You can use the bar there "Abrahams " slightly nearer than White Hart in the village. Hingham has Fish and Chip shop, butchers, bakers, tea shop. A large co-op going out the other end of village but all walkable. Buses run to Norwich for a day out if you have no car. Bus stop just outside the site.

Disliked Only 2 showers so a queue forms or go at 07.30! Needs a refurbishment but we managed 😊
Wifi and signal for data flaky but they might be our pitch.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked Beautiful place, we never had to wait for the toilet or the shower.
We would go again but would go further on site to a more wilderness pitch.

Disliked Rules are not clear enough for us, as it reads Adults only but then we were woken up by 2 very very young children running around our tent screaming.
Apparently children are allowed with adults on the first fishing pond.
I question this as not being Adults only.
The owner was good and moved them to the other side of the pond, it was a compromise.
Other campers that were next to us were not happy either.
Site may benefit with an additional paragraph around fishing and children.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely well kept site. Pitches are a nice size and most are surrounded by trees. The staff on the site was very helpful as I had problems with my gas cooker which he sorted.. I also have a dog that struggles in heat and he was very helpful to try and provide some shade for her. There is a nice size field attached for walking the dog

Disliked Toilets/showers are a bit tired and could do with more of them.
Unfortunately I had some young girls camp beside me that had a fire pit every night.. they were quite loud and stayed up until early morning.. once I bought myself some earplugs this was not a problem.. not a fault of the site but just a shame they chose me to park beside 😅

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked We had a warm friendly welcome.
The facilities were very good, the free DVD library was used by us.
The best thing was the dog walking areas around the campsite in the very quiet countryside.
We tend to book adult only sites and this one did not disappoint.
Its a well located site, the Tank Museum is a good day out.

Local attractions

Once you’ve put down the fishing rod, head to Hingham with the camera to snap some shots of very fashionable houses: Hingham’s popularity with posh Georgians who came here in the 18th-century led to the town being labelled Little London. The eastern side of the market place is said to have the best collection of Georgian houses in Norfolk, perfect for pics and a possible rant about 21st-century property prices (buy a motorhome instead). From Hingham, it’s about 17 miles east to Norwich, Norfolk’s capital town and filled with a capital amount of attractions such as England’s biggest six-day indoor market, the greatly-sized Gothic fountain at the Plantation Garden and the ‘Norwich 12’, 12 listed buildings in the city including stupendous Norwich Cathedral. Keep driving your way east to reach the Norfolk Broads: their 125 miles of navigable waterways are where to go in Norfolk for all things boat, whether you want to try a guided river trip to wildlife spot, hire a boat to drift lazily down the water or take out a canoe for placid paddling. The Broads have several good angling lakes to pick from too, or try sea fishing off the beach from Sea Palling round to the coast at Great Yarmouth. A 45-minute drive from Rectory Farm will bring you to the gorgeous beaches of the north Norfolk coast and the 45 miles of the North Norfolk Coastal Path, going from Hunstanton to Cromer via Wells and Blakeney in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
