  • Peaceful clifftop holiday park on the North Norfolk coastline
  • Direct access to Norfolk Coast Path; Sheringham five minutes’ drive
  • Dog-friendly grass pitches; half an hour’s walk to the local pubs
With a spectacular location on the North Norfolk coast between Sheringham and Cromer, Beeston Regis Holiday Park is rightly nicknamed nicknamed ‘The King of the Clifftop View’. Set in 62 acres, the site’s two spacious touring and camping fields are indeed on the clifftop – and the majority have sea views. With ample space for parking, the level grass pitches in Church Field all have electric hook-ups, while Hay Field is designated a non-electric, tents-only meadow with the chance to select the pitch of your choice (subject to availability). Both fields are dog-friendly and the Norfolk Coast Path is easily accessible for walkies, while much of West Runton Beach (10 minutes’ walk) is open to dogs all year. You’re welcome to fire up your barbecue on site – buy stuff for the grill from the big supermarket in Sheringham (five minutes’ drive)… but if you’d rather someone else did the catering for you, there are a couple of pubs – both with beer gardens for warmer days – in West Runton (half an hour’s walk). And a final word: park amenities include a top-quality shower block with reliable hot water, washing-up sinks, a launderette service and Elsan point.

Hay Field non-electric grass tent pitch (large)

Liked: Toilets/showers always clean, cleaner was popping in and out all day. Toilet roll always stocked.
Pitch was very flat, bins nearby and washing facilities very short walk.
Site had sensor lights at the end of every row for using toilets etc at nice which was nice with small kids, didn’t need a torch.
Play park for kids
Brilliant location to visit local towns and activities, lovely walks and close to beach.
Also a small coffee van on site to buy coffee, cakes and bacon rolls.

Hay Field non-electric grass tent pitch (large)

Liked: Fantastic pitch, great views, good facilities and location to local areas.
Site and facilities were clean and well kept

Disliked: No reflection on the campsite/owners but Children playing at 5am as soon as the sun is up was not fun for us as an older couple.

We couldn't get the WiFi to work.

Queues for toilets/showers were to be expected but a couple more toilets and showers would solve the queue time.

Church Field electric grass pitch

Liked: Well positioned site on the cliff tops. Good views. Easy access to Sheringham, West Runton and Cromer. Beaches close by, but staircase to the beach has been unusable for a few years which is a shame because this would be the ideal route down to the beach from the site. Toilet block is well
Looked after and clean. Piknik Box (hope I’ve spelt that correctly) is a welcome addition - bacon butties etc., cakes and drinks. Located behind washrooms. Closed Wednesday and Thursday when we were there.

Disliked: Mirrors in gents washrooms are placed too low because of the window. Makes shaving of the face tricky, but shaving around the navel a breeze! Need hooks in the washroom to hang towels and items of clothing whilst washing. No problems with the showers.

Church Field electric grass pitch

Liked: Great pitch. Bathrooms very clean and tidy. Nice hot showers. The whole site nicely set out so it didn’t feel like you were in a huge site. Easy walk to local village great Thai takeaway or eat in, great pub with fab beer garden. Fair walk to sheringham but bus stop outside the park entrance and regular service for further afield. Great little coffee and bacon butty van some days. All facilities for grey and black waste plus drinking water easy and spotlessly clean.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Local attractions

Keen walkers can be striding the Norfolk Coast Path within five minutes of putting on their boots. Shorter walks include the circular amble through beach woodland, heather and gorse at National Trust-owned West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath (35 minutes’ walk), which takes in Beacon Hill – one of the highest points in flat Norfolk – the relics of a former Roman camp and Stone Hill, with fine views to the North Sea. The animal-mad among you can get your fix at Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary (five minutes’ drive), where rescue alpacas, donkeys and goats join the stately Shire horses for cuddling and petting duty. You might also be lucky enough to spot grey seals on the sand spit at Blakeney National Nature Reserve (25 minutes), where you can also wander around the salt marshes looking for snipe, warblers and terns. Once a fishing village, coastal Sheringham (five minutes’ drive) has lots of indie shops to browse, along with a pebble beach with rock-pooling potential when the tide is out. Cromer (10 minutes) beckons with a long sandy sward, shows at the Pavilion Theatre on its Victorian pier and an artwork from Banksy’s ‘Great British Spraycation’ installation on one of the sea walls.
