  • Peaceful clifftop holiday park on the North Norfolk coastline
  • Direct access to Norfolk Coast Path; Sheringham five minutes’ drive
  • Dog-friendly grass pitches; half an hour’s walk to the local pubs
With a spectacular location on the North Norfolk coast between Sheringham and Cromer, Beeston Regis Holiday Park is rightly nicknamed nicknamed ‘The King of the Clifftop View’. Set in 62 acres, the site’s two spacious touring and camping fields are indeed on the clifftop – and the majority have sea views. With ample space for parking, the level grass pitches in Church Field all have electric hook-ups, while Hay Field is designated a non-electric, tents-only meadow with the chance to select the pitch of your choice (subject to availability). Both fields are dog-friendly and the Norfolk Coast Path is easily accessible for walkies, while much of West Runton Beach (10 minutes’ walk) is open to dogs all year. You’re welcome to fire up your barbecue on site – buy stuff for the grill from the big supermarket in Sheringham (five minutes’ drive)… but if you’d rather someone else did the catering for you, there are a couple of pubs – both with beer gardens for warmer days – in West Runton (half an hour’s walk). And a final word: park amenities include a top-quality shower block with reliable hot water, washing-up sinks, a launderette service and Elsan point.

What customers say

This cliffside campground offers amazing ocean views, ideal for exploring Sheringham and Cromer. Guests rave about spotless facilities, especially the modern, powerful showers. Pitches are roomy, and staff are often called friendly and helpful. Great access to coastal paths and local spots makes it a top pick for a chill getaway. A few noted weak WiFi and busy facilities at peak times.

Church Field powered grass campsite

Liked Lovely walks in both directions along the Norfolk Coast Path. The sunrise was spectacular. The Village Inn at West Runton is a great little country pub serving well cooked food, only 15 mins walk along the coast path. Advisable to book though if you're eating. In the other direction is a lovely 30 min walk to Sheringham along the coastal path. Lovely walks for the dog in land too, but note that the only access to the beach is in West Runton. We were in a campervan with no awning so took up very little space in our reasonably sized pitch in Church Field. Hay Field had closed for the season so tents, tourers, campervans & caravans were all in the same area, but it wasn't over crowded.
NB: Something to note if you're in a high vehicle and have mobility issues; you'll need to get out of your vehicle to open/close the level crossing gates on entry to the park.

Disliked Only 4 toilets in the ladies, which was fine going into October when the camping field had closed for the season, but would be inadequate during high season when catering for two fields of camping and touring.
Absolutely NO Wi-Fi where we were in Church Field.

Church Field powered grass campsite

Liked A friendly welcome in the very well appointed reception area: makes a change from someone in a hut! Our pitch was spacious, and - as we were in a tent - nicely sheltered. We never used the laundrette facilities, but the freezer was put to good use for our cool blocks. Can't fault the cleanliness of the toilets and showers, along with the upkeep of the rest of the site. With Sheringham and Cromer within walking distance, we only used the car a couple of times, so the location is ideal.

Disliked It's nitpicking, but the mirrors in the toilet block are too low to be much use. To be fair, they can't be any higher because of the windows, but it made shaving a bit harder than it needed to be. But really - that's the only thing I can think of that wasn't great.

Church Field powered grass campsite

Liked Immaculate toilet block. Excellent sea view. Spacious pitch well looked after with short grass. Electric Hook Up

Access to the coastal path with walks to East & West Runton Cromer & Sheringham. Bus stop for both directions right outside the site

Excellent play area for children

Disliked A drive over waste water drop for motorhomes would be useful to empty onboard tank

Not a fault of the site but no immediate access to beach because of high cliffs& coastal erosion but access is available at West Runton via coastal path.

WIFI and telephone signal (o2) both weak

Local attractions

Keen walkers can be striding the Norfolk Coast Path within five minutes of putting on their boots. Shorter walks include the circular amble through beach woodland, heather and gorse at National Trust-owned West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath (35 minutes’ walk), which takes in Beacon Hill – one of the highest points in flat Norfolk – the relics of a former Roman camp and Stone Hill, with fine views to the North Sea. The animal-mad among you can get your fix at Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary (five minutes’ drive), where rescue alpacas, donkeys and goats join the stately Shire horses for cuddling and petting duty. You might also be lucky enough to spot grey seals on the sand spit at Blakeney National Nature Reserve (25 minutes), where you can also wander around the salt marshes looking for snipe, warblers and terns. Once a fishing village, coastal Sheringham (five minutes’ drive) has lots of indie shops to browse, along with a pebble beach with rock-pooling potential when the tide is out. Cromer (10 minutes) beckons with a long sandy sward, shows at the Pavilion Theatre on its Victorian pier and an artwork from Banksy’s ‘Great British Spraycation’ installation on one of the sea walls.
