  • Family-run rural site with three acres of grass with views of Fens
  • Fishing rivers within a mile; Sandringham Estate half an hour’s drive
  • Walk to the village pub and shop; dogs are welcome on site
Down a quiet single track on a country road in the village of Tydd St Mary, you’ll not-so-accidentally stumble upon the stunning Greendyke Farm… for this family-run site has three acres of open grassland pitches with views of the Fenland landscape and many stunning sunsets and sunrises. There’s enough space to walk your dog on a lead in the field or take them on a countryside stroll from this peaceful place. The location on the Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk border is right within reach of quiet roads, fishing rivers (within one mile of the site) and riverside walks leading to local villages. It’s also on the National Cycle Route network, and there are local buses from the village. In the village, which is within less than a 15-minute walk, grab essentials from the local shop, duck into the local pub for a meal or let the kids loose in the village playing field, which has a kids’ play area and outdoor gym equipment. The larger local town, Long Sutton, is 10 minutes’ drive away and has Chinese takeaways, fish and chips shops, pizza and other takeaways, a pub and a larger shop; some offer a delivery service. Despite being tucked into peaceful countryside, there are supermarkets in Wisbech too (15 minutes’ drive) and you’ll have no trouble finding farm shops or butchers for barbecue purchases within 20 minutes’ drive of the site, as well as more pubs and restaurants. And the facilities? Very lovely, too… there are outdoor toilet and shower facilities and a firepit is available upon request. The large pitches have more than enough room for an awning. Gorgeous west Norfolk’s Sandringham Estate is only half an hour’s drive away from the site, and for those who want to visit the north Norfolk coast, the seaside town of Hunstanton is just 45 minutes’ drive away.

Buttercup non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Had an absolute blast on the site. 10/10 and have recommended to friends. Very friendly and happy to help owner, Tom. Was very warm and welcoming. Told us about the nearby pub and shops. Told us can pitch anywhere, no rush when leaving and to have a great time. All grass pitches with next to no thistles so walking barefoot was very pleasurable. Toilet and shower (shed) was spotlessly clean and as advertised is not a block but a metal shed. It’s definitely the cleanest small site I’ve been to. Very good prices. Great views with fields keeping you a good distance away from the roads and keeping the site quiet, small single engine planes going over. Was nice and relaxing. Really really do recommend staying. With the site being open all year round I cannot wait to test my camping gear in all conditions in a safe manner. 10/10 will be back!!

Disliked N/a. All was fantastic

Buttercup non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful location, really clean site. Great communication from the owner regarding arrival. Beautiful village pub within walking distance. Site is kept very nice. Lots of room and space.
Very clean facilities.

Disliked We camped on a bank holiday weekend so on the Saturday the site became much more busy. Roughly 20 tents and a few motor homes.
Having one toilet and one shower is not ok. One morning I waited for 20 minutes for a shower and one person taking 20 minutes. This may be a new venture so may have been overlooked. However this is a basic necessity. Maybe a timer on the shower for inconsiderate people. Overall clean and well stocked.
With more toilets and showers I would definitely return

From the manager: thank you for your lovely review pleased you both had a great time and chilled out ,

we take onboard what comments that everyone leaves . we are a very small site that is normally only gets
1 maybe 2 tents but to have the amount of tents over last weekend it was very busy for us and we are sorry that may of coursed any inconvenience to anyone and yes it is something we are looking at improving on the site in time

its a shame we only have the problem one weekend in the session . look forward to seeing you both again

Buttercup non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Had a very pleasant stay at Greendyke farm. Owner was friendly and had everything we needed. The facilities were very clean and well kept. I wonder whether the single toilet and shower might be an issue if the campsite was busier however this was not the case during our stay. The local pub was also very nice with good food and friendly staff.
