  • Grassroots festival-style site in the Cambridgeshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Devil’s Dyke and 20 minutes from Cambridge
  • A short walk away from country pubs; walking trails nearby
From walking trails and cosy country pubs to buzzy cities and historic National Trust sites… Devil’s Dyke Camp Site is in quite the position for filling the day with everything from hikes and heritage sites to punting down in Cambridge 20 minutes’ drive away. This pop-up site calls the scenic Cambridge countryside home and has turned its patch into a grassroots festival-style site ready for a good time. In the village of Swaffham Prior, you’ll be in a good spot to get away for a while, with the Anglo-Saxon remains and seven-mile hiking grounds at Devil’s Dyke an hour and five minutes’ walk away (that’s 10 minutes in the car) and Newmarket Rowley Mile Course nearby too, in case you’re in town for events on the racing calendar. The village has two churches and a couple of cosy country pubs within a short walk of the site (the closest just 10 minutes’ walk away), so you won’t have to go far to dine somewhere nice. Of course, walking trails also feature around here – there are many rural routes you may want to career onto. When it comes to facilities on the site, wild camping (festival-style) is the way here. That means there’s no running water and basic facilities including portable toilets for a grassroots stay. Handily, the site is also dog-friendly, so you’ll be able to pass the days with your dog by your side.
