Riverside Caravan Park: River on site

General

  • Family site on the River Severn, 10 minutes’ drive from Great Malvern
  • Malvern Hills and Worcester 15 minutes’ drive; Tewkesbury 20 minutes
  • Playground and on-site fishing; clubhouse with carvery and Sky Sports

Fancy waking up to expansive views of the spectacular Malvern Hills? Then Riverside Caravan Park might just be the place for your next holiday. This peaceful site sits on the banks of the River Severn, 10 minutes’ drive from Great Malvern and 15 minutes from Worcester.

The site is well equipped for families: children can let rip in the play area, climb trees or make friends with the resident farm animals, and there’s a dog park for the four-legged members of your clan. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can relax with a spot of riverside angling or by taking in the splendid views of the Worcestershire countryside.

The on-site clubhouse puts on a diverse range of events, from quiz nights to bingo and live entertainment; it also has a big screen tuned to Sky Sports, for the happiness of those who just can’t stay away from their Saturday footie.

The clubhouse serves meals, too, including traditional Sunday roasts, or you can explore the local pubs: the nearest one is a five-minute drive away (or a 25-minute walk). On the other hand, if you prefer to fire up the barbecue, you’re more than welcome to do so here. Great Malvern is your best bet for provisions, with independent shops and a choice of supermarkets.

Among other amenities here are heated toilet and shower blocks (including facilities for disabled guests), a launderette and a washing-up area.

Please note

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.

Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the passenger door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.

This was our second time returning… and we can’t wait to come back already!

Staff on arrival were the kindest, most helpful couple, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a beautiful spot with electric point and water tap. Facilities were always spotless (showers/toilets), grounds are beautifully maintained. Washing machine and tumble dryer available for use. Club house onsite service food, with bingo at 9!

Everything you could want from a campsite and more!

    Cannot wait to come back!

Friendly welcome. Spotlessly clean showers/toilets. Showers were really good, plenty of hot water & powerful. Two showers in each but no wait to use them. Very well kept grounds. Dog friendly. The pitches are on an incline so levellers are needed. EHU & water at each pitch which is convenient. A great location for exploring the local area. Lots of nice walks. Close to the Malvern Hills. Had a lovely lunch in The Olde Anchor Inn in Upton upon Severn.

    Disliked:

No WiFi. The price was at the higher end of our budget (we paid £160 for 4 nights in September 2 adults & 1 dog in a campervan). For the price, I would expect WiFi but this is the first time we’ve stayed in this area & we appreciate that this may be the norm. The timer on the shower in the ladies shower room was for only 60 seconds. I stuck my hand out through the shower curtain & gave a wave under the sensor & it came back on again. It was a little annoying. Maybe the timer could be adjusted? Minor issues that would not prevent us from staying here again

From the manager...

Thank you Stephanie for your great review, we will take a look at the light sensor in the ladies showers and see if it can be adjusted. Hope to see you again soon.

Excellent site with plenty of space to explore with young children and dogs. Lovely walks down the river where you can access the Alpaca farm to feed some animals and stop for lunch.
Good play area for the children on site and a nice clubhouse with plenty of entertainment scheduled each night. Second time staying here and we will be back again next year.

Beautifully kept, tidy holiday park. Shower blocks lovely and clean, with great showers. Friendly staff. Fishing available on own pontoon. Very peaceful until bank Holiday weekend began.

    Disliked:

For camping, the slope is a bit challenging. Touring caravans obviously can level up on legs. Sadly not an option in a tent .

From the manager...

Thank you Stephen for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Please ask to be put on pitches 1-6 which are at the bottom of the slope next time you visit us.

Whilst we agree that this is a very clean and well kept site it doesn’t meet with the advertised facilities!

    Disliked:

n arrival informed that in one hour the club house would be closed for the rest of our stay. No access to any shops or other eating and drinking establishments unless with a car. Please also note that even while the club is open it is cash only and no cash point available!
Luckily we are able bodied otherwise the climb down to the river would be impossible.
We clearly had no children and had dogs but were positioned directly adjacent to the kids play area.
Owners were uncompromising and unhelpful with our decision to only stop the one night due to the misleading facilities advertised with no refund.
Cannot recommend and will definitely not be returning

Local attractions

Head to Worcester, where you can gaze up at (and feel dwarfed by) the Gothic vaults of the centuries-old cathedral (home of the tomb of medieval King John); learn all about porcelain at the Museum of Royal Worcester; and check out the walled garden at Greyfriars House.

If you’re itching for a hike, there are plenty of trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 minutes’ drive), including circular walks taking in a spectacular landscape of woodland, pastures and orchards. There are also self-guided themed walks focusing on wildlife, the famed water springs or local literary connections.

Stretching on the banks of the River Avon, the historic town of Tewkesbury (20 minutes) is renowned for its 12th-century abbey, with its splendid stained-glass windows and ornate ceiling. The Tewkesbury Museum, in a half-timbered building, is home to a vast diorama (with a cast of over 2,000 characters) illustrating one of the key battles of the War of the Roses, the Battle of Tewkesbury, which took place on the outskirts of the town in 1471.
