What customers say
This is a popular, relaxed 'wild camping' site with a beautiful riverside location, ideal for families. Visitors praise the ample space, the river for swimming and paddling, and the option of campfires. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are generally reported as clean and well-maintained, though some note they are basic. Manager replies indicate ongoing improvements. Issues raised include rubbish disposal (visitors must take it home), occasional noise, and the entrance gate's proximity to the road.

Liked Tons of space! We had strong winds during the night but trees along the river protected our spot nicely. Kids loved finding the rope swings. Toilet sheds are big with plenty of breeze, perfect.

Has everything I want from a campsite, will return for sure
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Plenty of room (early April), unlimited pitch size and largely flat site. Nice shallow river for kids to play in. Shower and toilets, and a washing up sink, available in sheds. Fire wood available to buy. Relaxed atmosphere, the basic rules aren't restrictive like in some sites. I really like this site for a quick weekend camp.
Disliked Rubble pile (from track building over a marshy patch at entrance) currently visible, and a couple of tatty looking caravans in storage, detract from the overall nature theme. These weren't there last time I camped here, so might just be temporary - I'll see next time.
Road noise is clearly heard, if that bothers you. I only noticed it if someone was ragging it along with a popping exhaust.
