  • Quiet secluded site close to Bicester
  • The closest site to Bicester Heritage (two miles)
  • Fishing lakes on site
What an excellent Oxfordshire site this is for anglers. And walkers. And quiet English countryside appreciators. For friendly and well-maintained Glebe Leisure Park is in a cracking countryside location on the edges of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire as well as Oxfordshire and has two fishing lakes on site as well as lots of trails all around. Dogs – and their owners – like this place too, as there are long walks and gravelled pathways with dog waste bins set at handy locations, and it's mighty like too that cyclists will like the gentle and short pedal along to local town Bicester... Any amenities you might need are sorted here, such as a loo and shower block with info room about the surrounding area, a toilet and shower facilities for disabled guests, a chemical disposal point, drinking water outlets and a car park.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nice site, big pitches and lots of greenery. We only stayed for one night but we liked the site. Would return. Staff were also very helpful and the site was clean in all the areas we saw.

Disliked The showers. They are challenging, small and with nowhere to put your things or get dry.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely site, tucked away from main roads,so very quiet. Only two MH and two caravans when we stayed, as an overnighter on way to Portsmouth, so very quiet. Small site with a very lovely dog walk.
Will definitely book again for next year, as we’re going on ferry to France from Portsmouth.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Very nice, pretty little site, with very clean toilets and shower facilities. Lovely walking area around the fishing lake and through the small wooded area for the dog. The one member of staff I met seemed very friendly and welcoming. We didn't get bothered too much by other campers - everyone seemed to enjoy their space whilst being considerate of others.

Disliked The ground for pitching tents was extremely hard - almost like it was a thin coating of rough grass over hardcore which made pegging out extremely hard work - we got through a lot of pegs and were lucky enough to have some really heavy duty ones with us otherwise we may have really struggled even more than we did. Took a long time to get set up because of this. Also the dogs and several of our group were severely plagued by the ants which seemed to be everywhere and were bitten (a lot) quite badly ... one of the dogs was almost covered in ant bites which have needed treatment on her return and have left her sore and scabby. Two of our party have also returned covered in large sore bite marks. Not essential, but would have been useful to be able to buy some small essentials at reception i.e. milk ... wasn't really a big problem.

Local attractions

Plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés are in Glebe Leisure's local town of Bicester within a couple of miles, and designer clothes and accessories in the outlet shopping centre Bicester Village. Glebe is the closest site to Bicester Heritage, the first park in the UK for the tender loving restoration care of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes and planes, all on over 345 acres of an old RAF bomber station. The centre's been described as 'a historic motoring fan's idea of heaven' so do speed along there if old engines make your motor hum. Twelve miles from the site is simply smashing Blenheim Palace, given to the first Duke of Marlborough by Charlie 2 and handed down through the Churchill family to reach one Winston some decades back. You really should have a trip... Also within 12 miles are another few British institutions: the dizzying array of arty treasures at the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor; Broughton Castle at Banbury, and days out spectating fast types at Silverstone Circuit.
