  • Quiet secluded site close to Bicester
  • The closest site to Bicester Heritage (two miles)
  • Fishing lakes on site
What an excellent Oxfordshire site this is for anglers. And walkers. And quiet English countryside appreciators. For friendly and well-maintained Glebe Leisure Park is in a cracking countryside location on the edges of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire as well as Oxfordshire and has two fishing lakes on site as well as lots of trails all around. Dogs – and their owners – like this place too, as there are long walks and gravelled pathways with dog waste bins set at handy locations, and it's mighty like too that cyclists will like the gentle and short pedal along to local town Bicester... Any amenities you might need are sorted here, such as a loo and shower block with info room about the surrounding area, a toilet and shower facilities for disabled guests, a chemical disposal point, drinking water outlets and a car park.

What customers say

This clean, well-kept site offers friendly staff and spacious spots. Guests love the peaceful setting, fishing, and dog areas. Modern restrooms are a plus, though some note limited hooks. WiFi can be spotty, and a few facilities need updating.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Easy access on good roads. Wide, flat FS hard pitch. Quiet

Disliked The guy at reception when we checked in was very performatory - could have been a friendlier welcome.
We called several times on the day, between 2pm and about 5-6pm, to advise we'd had problems setting off so were going to be arriving about 15mins after the advertised 1pm-6pm check-in time ends, but nobody picked up the phone. ...Not a comforting feeling when you are driving several hours in the late afternoon/early evening towing a caravan in the rain to not even know if there is going to be anyone there to let you in when you arrive.
Need a sensor-light by the chemical waste disposal area (there are lights by the rubbish bins and washing up sinks, but not by the chemical toilet disposal/cleaning area

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The site was clean, the owner I met was lovely and polite. The showers were clean and hot. Also no silly push button!! Washing up sinks were clean and water hot.

Disliked Around the shower block at night from the grass N/e pitches was pitch black. No lights along paths.
Washing up in the dark was tricky.
The shower head was broken but still functional.
The light in the ladies shower kept going out and whilst in the left cubicle you couldn’t turn it back on as the sensor was out of reach..
I had barely time to undress and out it went …

This said the site is cheap, clean and has fantastic facilities. All above easily fixable.

Camping pod (six person, family)

Liked Last minute half term stay and we had the best time ! Stayed in the bigger pod sleeps six and was brilliant ! My son is obsessed with fishing and think we have been to Glebe about four times this week ! So I thought why not book a last minute stay !
Clean quiet and relaxing will definitely be booking again.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Peaceful, reasonable sized pitches, lovely lake and wood to walk the dog through.

Staff friendly and accommodating, explained all we needed on arrival.

Didn’t try out the fishing as water so low after the summer, though several were and carp could be seen, cruising near the surface

Disliked While the toilets and showers were clean and tidy, looking a little tired.

Powered grass campsite

Liked The pitch was fine

Disliked Cleaning of toilet block - the records showed it had been cleaned on 25th Oct but not again before we left on 29th Oct. Frankly it was poor! One of two toilets leaking, wet toilet paper on floor, sinks not clean and the two showers got muddier and muddier. Mud likely to be due to the fishermen!

Camping pod (four person)

Liked We upgraded our pod to a 6 persons once we arrived. It was a back up for a cancelled camping trip due to a storm that wasnt safe for a tent. Lovely facilities it was a quiet weekend and the amenities were clean and maintained. We got the camping experience we were hoping for and we stayed dry!! I would definitely return to the area. Spent the day at Bicester Village and Air-hop trampoline park. The park is small but nice grounds to walk around the fishing lake

Disliked The toilets high windows were opened on the first night so it was cold didn't figure how to shut them but they were shut on the second night

Local attractions

Plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés are in Glebe Leisure's local town of Bicester within a couple of miles, and designer clothes and accessories in the outlet shopping centre Bicester Village. Glebe is the closest site to Bicester Heritage, the first park in the UK for the tender loving restoration care of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes and planes, all on over 345 acres of an old RAF bomber station. The centre's been described as 'a historic motoring fan's idea of heaven' so do speed along there if old engines make your motor hum. Twelve miles from the site is simply smashing Blenheim Palace, given to the first Duke of Marlborough by Charlie 2 and handed down through the Churchill family to reach one Winston some decades back. You really should have a trip... Also within 12 miles are another few British institutions: the dizzying array of arty treasures at the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor; Broughton Castle at Banbury, and days out spectating fast types at Silverstone Circuit.
