Liked We had another fantastic stay (our 3rd time) at Sherwood Pines Campsite. One of the best things was how easy it was to walk straight into the forest, making it perfect for exploring and enjoying nature with our Spaniel.
Even though the campsite was quite busy during our visit, it was never noisy and had a really relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and the facilities were kept very clean throughout our stay. The showers were excellent too, with plenty of hot water and good pressure.
A great bonus was the chip van on site on saturday night, which was very handy after a day out walking.
Overall, a well-run campsite in a brilliant location. We'd definitely stay again

Liked Such a clean and tidy site,
All facilities well looked after,
We used this as a trial for distent types of camping, the pods are great, the grass pitches next to them are well looked after so you're close together.
Food vans on Friday and Saturday,
Great location to get in to sherwood pines! 10 minute walk (with children!)
Lovely staff!

Liked Firstly staff all brilliant my first time on this site and the first time I had camped in my camper with my dog so was offered a quiet spot out of the way, only stayed 2 nights and very new to my camper van still learning how it all works. Had a flat battery on the morning I was leaving, the lady that came with jump leads was lovely knowledgeable and couldn't do enough although I had to call the AA still just want to say a big thank you all the staff I met were lovely and a credit to sherwood pines, the place was well maintained, immaculately clean too will definitely be back .

Liked We were met by a lovely lady called Sarah she knew exactly where to put us when we told her our needs. Pitched up in a glade call dinky dee. It was fabulous. Lovely and quiet. Will definitely be returning.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Location is fantastic to get into the Forest Trails and further.
When we arrived 50mins before official check in time started we were warmly welcomed and we were able to get to our pitch (non electric for one night).
Plenty of facilities and kept clean.

Liked Good spacious site, great facilities clean and well maintained. Checking in and personally being shown to choose our pitch was great. Pizza van on site when we arrived was an added bonus.
We only stayed one night as a stopover one longer trip, but would definitely have on our list to return and explore the forest more.

Liked We had a fully serviced pitch. Water, waste water and electric. Beautiful area.
Toilets and showers nice and clean. Friday night was pizza night. A pizza van came to the site. Very nice. Saturday morning another food van serving breakfasts, cobs etc also very nice. Plenty of bins around the site with the opportunity to recycle. Plenty of dog waste bins around the site. We found the staff very friendly.

Disliked Fully serviced pitch wasn't very big. Only just got the car and caravan side by side. Speed limit was 5mph. However lots of children and adults riding around the site at speed.

Want to explore the forest on two wheels? You won’t need to fret about securing a bicycle rack to your precious car, as Sherwood Pines Cycles (10 minutes’ walk) is right within striking distance. Go Ape Sherwood (10 minutes) is also within walking distance, making it easy to go from lounging on the pitch to gliding down a zipwire and gazing through the leaf canopies. If you’d rather spend your time batting golf balls with gusto, try the Sherwood Forest Golf Club (10 minutes) instead. For one of the area’s most legendary sights, head to The Major Oak (10 minutes’ drive), an ancient tree rumoured to be connected to the legendary Robin Hood. If you still have plenty of energy to expend on some challenging activities, the Adrenalin Jungle Activity Centre (25 minutes) runs activities such as assault courses and paintballing. Finally, should you feel like pausing the activities to take in some important history, The National Holocaust Centre and Museum (20 minutes) is not too far away either.
