The grassy paddock is open and surrounded by hedges and mature trees, providing guests with plenty of space to spread out.

Friendly dogs are welcome throughout the year.

Canoeing/kayaking, fishing and boat trips are available nearby on the River Trent, and there are loads more water-based options such as wakeboarding and whitewater tubing, rafting and kayaking a short drive away at the National Watersports Centre.

The campsite itself is quite small but there is still ample space and it doesn’t feel cramped. The other campers were very friendly along with the staff. The toilet blocks are unfinished but they are not rundown and are very clean. The gate makes you feel secure and the surrounding area is very pleasant for walks and relaxing.

    Disliked:

Campsite is in noise distance of the unicorn hotel but they played great music so I guess it’s negligible.

Loved the rural, quiet position overlooking green fields and the beautiful River Trent across the road. Great walks along the river with our dog. Also great places to eat within easy walking distance. There are no facilities except a toilet in an unfinished toilet/shower block, but fortunately we were totally self-sufficient in our caravan.

Beautiful pitch - blossom trees, cows in next field, pub next door, river outside, secure entry, easy to find, laid back and left to get and enjoy our weekend.

    Disliked:

Toilets - however we were made aware of lack of facilities and although not a problem for us as we only stayed 2 nights I would wait to return until the showers have been completed.
Only 1 bin for whole site - standard size wheelie bin- over flowing when we left.
