What customers say
This is a relaxed, back-to-basics campsite with a beautiful location by the River Nene, near historic castle ruins. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly Kaz, and highlight the incredibly clean portaloos. The site offers easy access to the river for watersports and is well-suited for those seeking peace and quiet. Some guests noted the absence of showers and a lack of washing-up facilities, while one reviewer reported an unpleasant encounter with a manager. Late season bookings should be confirmed directly with the site due to potential closure issues.

Lovely campsite - easy river access, don’t drink too much river water
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Love the space around pitches and how quiet the campsite is. Being close to the pub is fantastic for dinner.
Disliked Unfortunately, and nothing the campsite can do, one of our family got d&v from too much River water once we got home.

From the manager: Sorry to hear this. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting and being so close to the pub, but we’re sorry to hear that someone in your family was unwell after your stay. As mentioned to guests, use of the river is at their own risk, and river conditions can vary considerably, particularly during periods of dry weather and low water levels.

Lovely vibe at the top of…
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely vibe at the top of the hill with views over the village. Vibrant atmosphere but people respect the site rules and it was quiet when we needed to sleep. River access excellent for some gentle kayaking.
Disliked The drinking water was on the gravel road, just outside the camping field, so it wasn't far for me, but I wasnt comfortable sending my child to fetch water alone. I'd have been happier if it was on this side of the fence.

Liked The 'off-grid' nature of the site; the friendly welcome; the fair price
Disliked Not the campsite's fault but there was a lot of noise until late from tractors working the nearby fields. Spoilt the peace rather a lot for me. Also some late night vehicle movements on the site.
