  • A 170-acre site two miles from the beach at Mablethorpe
  • Several fishing lakes on site and a family show bar with entertainment
  • Golf course, aqua park and a bar and restaurant
Guests of all sizes should find stacks to do at good-looking and quiet Grange Leisure Park two miles from Mablethorpe, like packing the kids off to scale the heady heights of the adventure playground's pirate ship while the grownups concern themselves with the serious matters of casting or teeing off… Casting off is at the park's six scenic fishing lakes filled with good-sized carp, roach, bream, perch and a few more scaly species. For teeing off, Grange has a nine-hole golf course; day tickets are available at reception where you can also hire clubs. There's also an outdoor aqua park available for guests' use for an extra charge, and a leisure complex with a family showbar (hosting entertainment), a bar-restaurant, arcade, café and supermarket. Entertainment and fishing are included in the pitch price. After the fish/golf balls have been tamed and the kids have gone wild in the playground (they'll find a zipwire, swings, slide and quite a bit more there too) guests of all sizes can meet up in the Badgers Barn Pub for a bite and a tipple (possibly not the latter for smaller guests). And then, a stroll to walk it all off? Ambling options are all around: Grange Leisure Park is on 170 acres of farmland and fields, with clear open views, miles of trails and wildlife in abundance. If you're wandering into Mablethorpe, the beach is about a mile away, but if you're feeling full/ lazy, the local bus stops right outside the site.

Camping pod

Liked The site itself is excellent, plenty of things to do. The restaurant was reasonably priced for a holiday complex. Very quiet during the night. Great location, with a bus stop right outside the site to take you into Mablethorpe.

Disliked The pod was not as new as the one shown in the photo. There was no small decking area as shown, but a stone slab in front of the door, which did make it quite a deep step when going in or out. The toilets were often left unflushed, this isn't necessarily the fault of the site as they can't clean them after every single person.

Camping pod

Liked Totally enjoyed the stay. We had 2 pods. Son and family in 1 and just me in other. We fished all day Saturday, lake only 20 steps from pod. Kids fished and kept running off to do other things. Entertainment at night was good.

Disliked Toilets not cleaned/looked after very well. Walking back from entertainment at night needs a few more lights around the lake edges, very dark in some places.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked Water park

Disliked Group of three not able to be placed together.
Really spoilt the atmosphere, first time in 8 years across the UK that this has happened.

Issue with placing us, arrived at 11 to be told someone had parked in our spot so had to wait ages, they then came back and told us they can't locate the driver (we later saw that the tent next to it was the driver and they had taken 3 spots!!!)

One sink to wash up.

Toilets really smell.

Litter literally strewn everywhere.

Neighbours up all night, absolutely hammered, shouting, swearing and arguing - they threw a cig towards our tent and some fairy lights which we found near our door. Their dog also pood around our tent in various spots which they didn't clean.

Absolutely not worth the money, too commercialized.. find a nice spot with owners that care and actually try and help.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked Grange Leisure Park, Mablethorpe – Stay Review

We recently spent three nights camping at Grange Leisure Park in Mablethorpe and, overall, it was a good break away. The site was actually better than we expected, with some areas clearly well maintained and looked after.

The reception team were friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and the majority of the staff we encountered were great. Jo (the pitch supervisor)was particularly lovely, friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the bingo during our stay. The aqua park was also good fun, while the outdoor bar was a great addition and a nice place to relax. Paddleboarding, however, could have been better.

Unfortunately, there were a few things that let the experience down. Some of the camping facilities were not particularly great, although other areas of the site were much better. We also had some mixed experiences with neighbouring campers, with some being perfectly fine while others were less considerate.

The biggest disappointment was the customer service from two female members of the food service team in the bar. Their attitude put a real dampener on one of our evenings and was disappointing, especially when the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Another issue was the behaviour of some campers and holidaymakers. There was rubbish left around, along with tent pegs and other items that became genuine trip hazards. It is a shame when people do not respect the facilities and surroundings that everyone is there to enjoy.

Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our three-night stay and would say that the park has plenty going for it. With better customer service in the food and bar area, improved care of some facilities, and visitors taking more responsibility for keeping the site clean and safe, it could be a really enjoyable place to stay.

Overall, a good break away with plenty of positives, but unfortunately a few avoidable issues and inconsiderate people took some of the shine off the experience.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked Overall a nice campsite local to us, very close to Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea. The Aqua Park was an added bonus. The play area for the children was nice and clean. Lovely entertainment area and amusement's. Would recommend topping your electric up the night before you’re due to leave or your fridge will be off as soon as it’s midnight and food will be ruined.

Disliked One of the receptionists were rude and dismissive made me stand and wait didn’t take my details and assumed I was another person. The men’s toilets were horrendous and the smell was too much to withstand. The women’s toilets were broken or dirty and the showers could potentially be really nice but were filthy and not once did I find a clean one. Our pitch was covered in rubbish when we arrived, a lot of cars driving up and down so not ideal for young kids if you like abit of space as it’s crammed in. Road noise was very loud but this was at the Aqua park area so could be different in other areas of the site. This is in the hight of the summer holidays so maybe would benefit from an additional cleaner.

Local attractions

Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea, Ingoldmells, Skegness and other Lincolnshire lovelies are all close by for the coastal connoisseurs; and market towns, villages and the Lincolnshire Wolds easy to get to inland. At Mablethorpe, many visitors wander through the dunes to Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, home of many a brightly-coloured bird, birds of prey, primates, reptiles and roguish-looking meerkats as well as the seals. Kids and big kids will probably also like Mablethorpe's miniature railway, boating lake and funfair; fans of the latter should add in Ingoldmells, home of Fantasy Island theme park. This is also a cracking area for nature: more seals can be seen at the popular Donna Nook National Nature Reserve down the coast between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet, and a huge nature reserve teeming with squawking seabirds is at Gibraltar Point near Skegness. Also nearby, bob about in boats or cast off again at the waters of the Lincolnshire Wolds, alongside many miles of trails and bridleways to walk, cycle or horse ride, or bob around Lincolnshire's market towns: recommended options include Alford, Louth and Lincoln.
