  • Two miles from the beach at Mablethorpe
  • Golf course, aqua park, bar and restaurant on a 170-acre site
  • Several fishing lakes plus tackle shop
Aaaarrrr! Guests of all sizes will find stacks to do at good-looking and quiet Grange Leisure Park two miles from Mablethorpe, like packing the kids off to scale the heady heights of the adventure playground's pirate ship while the grownups concern themselves with the serious matters of casting or teeing off… Casting off is at the park's six scenic fishing lakes filled with good-sized carp, roach, bream, perch and a few more scaly species (if you haven't brought your gear, the basics are for sale in the site tackle shop). For teeing off, Grange has a nine-hole golf course; day tickets are available at reception where you can also hire clubs. There's also an outdoor aqua park available for guests' use for an extra charge, and a leisure complex with a showbar, bar and restaurant, arcade, café and supermarket. Entertainment and fishing is included in the pitch price. After the fish/golf balls have been tamed and the kids have gone wild in the playground (they'll find a zipwire, swings, slide and quite a bit more there too) guests of all sizes can meet up in the Badgers Barn Pub for a bite and a tipple (possibly not the latter for smaller guests). And then, a stroll to walk it all off? Ambling options are all around: Grange Leisure Park is on 170 acres of farmland and fields, with clear open views, miles of trails and wildlife in abundance. If you're wandering into Mablethorpe, the beach is about a mile away, but if you're feeling full/ lazy, the local bus stops right outside the site. A new amenities block was added in 2018.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked The pitch was well placed level spacious and near to the facilities.

Disliked The water in the showers were cold no matter what time of day you used them. The toilet and shower blocks were always dirty and need to be deeper cleaned on a regular basis.
Staff in restaurant need a little more training with regard to food hygiene

Mitchell H.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked The view of the campsite and lakes was beautiful especially the fishing spots.

The Aqua Park which me and my son went on twice was fun! £20 each was a bit steep especially since we did it 2 separate days. Word of advice for anyone doing it in future DONT waste your money on slip socks or wetsuit hire which are an extra £5 each, there’s no need for them at all and we had a blast!
The Shop and bars/restaurant had a good selection. The shop itself was quite pricey but if you have a car there’s a Lidl a couple of minutes down the road on the way to the beach.
5 minute drive from the campsite to the beach was a bonus! Never been so close to a beach and this campsite was ideal!

Disliked The amount of dog poo around the campsite was ridiculous! It looks like no attempt has been made by guests or staff to pick up any dog mess! Kids were playing all over the grass as well so god knows the kind of germs they could’ve picked up. I understand it’s down to lazy guests no picking up after their dogs, that the fields have got in this way so can’t expect the staff to pick up after everyone. Maybe put up a few signs even though it’s common sense anyway.

Showers were cold everyday! Every time somebody said it was fixed it wasn’t. These were the closest showers for us to use, on the last day i decided to find the other shower block and use that which the water was perfectly fine. Not only were the showers cold but the actual toilet/showers weren’t very clean by the end of our stay. When we first arrived they looked immaculate but as the days went on you could see the same dirt or toilet roll on the floor that had been there the previous day. Toilets should be cleaned and maintained regularly and these ones were not. There was even poo in one cubicle at one point which was still there the very next day!

Dodgy power point where we were pitched. We were warned when we checked in by reception that they’d had problems with this certain pitches power so I don’t know why you would still let somebody use it. It worked fine for the first 3 days then after that stopped functioning properly. Which left us with food getting spoilt in our fridge.

Staff at the Badgers Barn bar and restaurant were friendly but seemed very young and inexperienced. One guy who served me didn’t know which pump was which when I asked for a pint until I pointed it out to him that most say it on top of the pumps. The same member of staff didn’t even know how to make a cocktail somebody else asked for and was asking the customer how to make it even though it was from THEIR menu. That same member of staff also didn’t even know what he was doing when it came to ordering a Pepsi. The first time I ordered one I asked for a large which came in a pint glass, the 2nd time I ordered one he was struggling to find any glasses and gave it me in a short glass and charged me the same as the first large one!!
The only competent member of staff was a young girl who served me a couple of times she had tattoos I didn’t catch her name at the time sorry, but she was very friendly and knew what she was doing and also commented how perfectly proportionate my frenchie dog was 😂

Dogs should be allowed in more parts of the park. We bought our dog and she was only allowed in the bar/restaurant not even the arcade or showbar both of which we wanted to go to quite often as I also had my son with me. But I would have to wait outside with the dog and keep an eye on him because she wasn’t allowed in.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked Nice tidy site, had good activities for kids and enjoyable entertainment at night. Good facilities, onsite shop, cafe and bar etc.

Disliked Toilets and showers need to be cleaned more regular many occasions we're very dirty and very smelly. Showers were all freezing cold. This was apparently same for all showers across the site, when speaking to others everyone was complaining and people living on site advised had been like this for around 3 months.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked Launderette is reasonably priced - £3.50 for a wash. £1 for dryer.

Good location for travelling into mablethorpe itself which is very lovely - 10 minutes by car.

Shower blocks were relatively clean.

Disliked Tent pitches are immediately next to a main road where cars are travelling at 60mph+. It is VERY noisy at night. There is just a row of trees between the pitch and the road.

There was no hot water to the toilet block for the tent pitches for the entirety of our stay. On the Thursday (day 4) there was no running water at all. There was another block a few minutes walk further which had hot water but nobody told us about this until day 4. So we endured 3 days of cold showers and cold washing up.

The park is run down and was full of obstructive rude teenagers. Zip line broken.

Food and drinks in bar expensive. Shop expensive but to be expected. Dogs not allowed anywhere except badgers barn.

Staff seemingly had no allergy awareness so my son who is allergic to milk couldn't eat anywhere on site.

Flying ants nests all on the tent pitches. Wasps everywhere. One of the wardens said they had an issue with wasp nests.

Tent pitches also right next to the aquapark so reduces privacy somewhat as cars just park up all in front of your tent to use the aquapark.

Security seemingly completely absent. Other pitchers partying until gone midnight. Strong smell of weed from certain pitches. A warden said they should have been quiet from 9.30 and that security patrol to enforce this but this did not happen.

Entertainment venue very close to tent pitches and was very loud until midnight each night.

I complained and got no support or any offer to help with anything so we left on day 4.

Local attractions

Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea, Ingoldmells, Skegness and other Lincolnshire lovelies are all close by for the coastal connoisseurs; and market towns, villages and the Lincolnshire Wolds easy to get to inland. At Mablethorpe, many visitors wander through the dunes to Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, home of many a brightly-coloured bird, birds of prey, primates, reptiles and roguish-looking meerkats as well as the seals. Kids and big kids will probably also like Mablethorpe's miniature railway, boating lake and funfair; fans of the latter should add in Ingoldmells, home of Fantasy Island theme park. This is also a cracking area for nature: more seals can be seen at the popular Donna Nook National Nature Reserve down the coast between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet, and a huge nature reserve teeming with squawking seabirds is at Gibraltar Point near Skegness. Also nearby, bob about in boats or cast off again at the waters of the Lincolnshire Wolds, alongside many miles of trails and bridleways to walk, cycle or horse ride, or bob around Lincolnshire's market towns: recommended options include Alford, Louth and Lincoln.
