General

  • Fishing on site in three well-stocked pools
  • 100-seat restaurant/steakhouse
  • Over 50 pegs for disabled anglers

If you think that on-site fishing and an on-site steakhouse are a winning holiday combo (yes), land them among the scenic landscaped surroundings and seven acres of Lincolnshire Wolds countryside at Caistor Lakes Leisure Park.

Anglers should find all excellent at the three well-stocked pools for specimen carp and the leisure lake for coarse fishing: all the lakes operate on a day and night ticket basis, and all have a dropoff point for tackle, gravelled paths for easy going and full toilet facilities. Over 50 pegs are on site suitable for disabled anglers.

Once all that's made you peckish, down rods for a bit for a bite in the Caistor Lakes 100-seat restaurant in peaceful setting overlooking the lakes and gardens. Its wide-ranging menu covers traditional and continental breakfasts, snacks, sandwiches, steaks and a Sunday roast menu with locally sourced home-cooked produce, all served until early evening when the café converts to a steakhouse open for most of the rest of the evening, for big bites after a bit more angling.

Amenities on site include shower and toilet facilities including disabled access to all areas.

We loved it ,from the minute we arrived the staff were very helpful, showing us to our pitch and even help us set up.As soon as we had set up we all (we had friends also staying on site ) went to the restaurant for our evening meals, the staff showed us to our table and our meals were soon on the table along with drinks.the facilities on site are immaculate,we also had lunch the next day there and breakfast on the day we left and help with everything so we had a fantastic wk end break for our 45th wedding anniversary and are definitely going to stay there again.

    Warm welcome and friendly site.

    Disliked:

The only problem we have is we don't want to tell others how good this site is
because we are sure that when the word gets out it will be hard to book a pitch in future because of demand.
Wish it could stay a secret.

Local attractions

Caistor Lakes Leisure Park's local town of Caistor is a market town on the edge of the Wolds with a history going back a couple of thousand years to its Roman fortress times.

Main sights to see are the Georgian and Victorian architecture, the Scheduled Ancient Monument of the remaining fragments of Roman wall, and the market square with over 50 listed buildings. Market days are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Fellow market town Market Rasen is a couple of miles north of Caistor and visited for its racecourse, more Georgian and Victorian architecture, and market days on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays – we make that five Lincolnshire markets one could easily visit in these parts over the week, with more to be had at the likes of county market towns like Louth and Alford...

If you're up for ambling, an easy four-mile circular walk starts and ends in Caistor via Nettleton, or you could hike the 25 miles of the Caistor Challenge, wander the Wolds free range, or tackle some of the 147 miles of the Viking Way passing through Caistor on its route from Humber Bridge to Oakham.

Must see

  • Far Ings National Nature Reserve (14.6 miles)
  • The Deep (16.4 miles)
  • Ferens Art Gallery (16.8 miles)

National Trust

  • Maister House (16.7 miles)
  • Tattershall Castle (28.1 miles)
