  • Adults-only touring pitches on a relaxed working farm
  • A 15-minute drive to the Malvern Hills; 20 minutes to Hereford
  • Organic green chemical waste disposal available (fluid can be bought)
Find this fine site hidden away down a quiet country lane: Aylton Motorhome and Caravan Site is an adults-only touring site on a peaceful Herefordshire farm and it’s a very pretty part of the world here, 10 minutes’ drive from Ledbury. That’s true of the farm too, which has views out over May Hill, Much Marcle and the Malvern Hills… There’s been a farm on this spot since the mid 15th century, but the farmhouse that stands here now dates back to the Georgian period. It’s alongside an ancient orchard of pear trees that provide the raw materials for the perry cider that’s produced at the farm. Please note that there are no toilets or showers on site and to preserve the surroundings for wildlife and farm animals alike, only organic green chemicals can be disposed of at the farm (these are available to buy on site). As you may guess from the gorgeous surroundings, this is a fine place from which to set out for rural walks – follow routes in the Malvern Hills, the Wye Valley or the Forest of Dean.

What customers say

This is a quiet, well-maintained site set in beautiful countryside, ideal for peace and tranquility. Visitors consistently praise the friendly, helpful, and welcoming hosts, with particular mention of Andrew. The site offers excellent value for money and is well-located for walks and exploring nearby areas. Pitching is generally level, with options for hardstanding and EHU. Minor points include a potentially tight access lane for some and a suggestion for a short hose at the loo emptying point.

Perry Orchard electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked We loved this site. The owner was incredibly kind, generous and hospitable, making us and our pup feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It's a beautiful spot, waking up in a peaceful orchard each day was wonderful, and well located with wide access to local walks and plenty of great places to visit nearby.

Perry Orchard electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked It’s a very peaceful site. The nearby countryside has lots of orchards and beautiful red brick houses.
The owner was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will likely visit again.
We cycled into nearby Ledbury and enjoyed visiting the church and a couple of small, historic buildings which were open to visitors.

Liked Friendly host. Sorted a mix up with pitch locations instantly. There were several other vans in the paddock, but there was enough room to be sideways on, so our side door had a view across the paddock, not into our neighbours van. Something many sites fail to consider.
It was nice and peaceful, and we had a good night sleep, which was good as we had to be away early next morning.
Thanks for the stay

Aries electric optional gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked Narrow roads navigated led to meeting with a very uptight camp owner about every single thing, luckily although I had paid for two nights had alternative option available so went there instead. One empty square field with no views, no chemicals disposal and no shelter from neighbours or trees for shade. Owner not agreeable about having a completely electric set up, although it is professionally installed, we have not added a decal but have everything else beautifully & professionally installed, and so therefore very disgruntled agreed to have me stay, but lectured on the merits of using refillable gas instead and made out I was uninsured, which is simply not true.

From the manager: We are very confused and saddened by this review and can only think this guest has got us mixed up with another site.
The facts are:-
1. Whilst the ½ mile from the main 'A' road is narrow there are many, many passing places, we have caravans and large 'A' class motorhomes arriving all the time with no problem, her vehicle was an old Mercedes white van partailly converted.
2. As a pre-requisite for our licence like all sites we have full elsan/toilet disposal facility.
3. When the guest arrived there were 3 further occupied pitches with guests.
4. After greeting the guest she advised she had popped in to see the location and was going to go and do some food shopping and then visit a friend and would see us later. She was only on the site for no longer than 15 minutes.
5. The only reference she consistantly made was to view how good the partially completetd van convertion made by her husband, who was an engineer.
6. As a lady on her own my wife l made the point if she needed any help or had any concerns to immidatly contact us.
7. We recieved the following message from the guest at 7.57PM that evening, this is copied from the actutal message but her name removed "Hi Andrew,Just in case you’re concerned, I have been last minute invited by a friend to stay in the Malverns so will not be returning to your camp. With kind regards XXXXX"

As to the other miscellaneous comments l do not know, the reason for leaving, visitng a friend , not returning and leaving this irroneous review l can only leave to the readers immagination.

Liked A simple, peaceful site. A lovely welcome from the owner. Thank you for letting us stay with you.

Disliked A little dog that kept charging over to us from another van whenever we walked across the field. We were never sure if it was going to take a chunk out of our ankles or not!! Not the site owner's fault but please, if you have a dog that runs at people 'because it thinks it's his garden'. then keep it tied up and on a lead!

Local attractions

Tastebuds at the ready… with Weston's Cider Mill (10 minutes’ drive) and Three Choirs Vineyards (15 minutes) close by, you could take a tour of a working cider mill or try the wine from one of England’s oldest vineyards. There’s a cider museum in Hereford (20 minutes) too, or you could head to the cathedral to look over the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map that’s been preserved from those times. To take in some more sites of old, there are guided tours around Hellens (10 minutes), a Tudor house, or Hampton Court Castle (25 minutes) if you fancy muddling your way through a maze on the grounds of a 15th-century castle. Meanwhile, Eastnor Castle (15 minutes) has a deer park, arboretum and plenty of play areas for kids. After some splendid vistas too? Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 minutes) and Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 minutes) have plenty of those. For a cathedral city instead, head to Gloucester (35 minutes) or Worcester (40 minutes). The latter is a rather nice option for walks too, either along the riverside or the Elgar Route.
