Briarfields Touring Park

Liked Adults only. We had a very warm welcome, everything was fully explained. The facilities were spotless, with piped music throughout. Pitches spacious and private, with hedges separating them. We really enjoyed our stay, having a Chinese takeaway delivered to the site.

Liked Lovely quiet site, really handy for a couple of local places to eat and Asda nearby for any items.

Lovely lady greeted me and gave me the site layout map with my pitch number on and wi-fi code. Lots of local information on the reception.

Site is secure with number plate recognition barriers.

Nice level pitch and very quiet despite what seemed to be a busy road at the back when I pulled in.

The shower and toilet block facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean.

Asda etc within walking distance, KFC and a couple of other shops.

A real credit to the owners and another site I would definitely visit again.

Liked The site is only a couple of miles from the M5 which made the journey simpler. I was staying for a couple of nights to break my journey. Checking in was very easy and a much needed map was given. I loved the individual pitches that were hedged and ensured privacy. The facilities were very clean and easily accessible. I love Dorothy's Field which is an enclosed field for dogs.

Disliked The hum of the motorway is constant but wasn't a problem for me but may be for others if they need complete silence to sleep. I found it quite soporific! Dorothy's Field is very uneven and potentially could cause falls for dogs and owners so care should be taken.

You’re quite right to mention the uneven ground there. This is a new addition to the site this summer, and with the long dry spell since March, the lack of rain has caused deep cracks that we haven’t yet been able to roll out. As soon as the ground softens enough, getting Dorothy’s Field levelled is our top priority. In the meantime, we’ve placed signs around to remind visitors to take care.

Liked The location is well-presented, with modern facilities in the centre of the park. A peaceful, adult-only site with a gated dog exercise area. Local parks and businesses are both within walking distance. Cheltenham is easily accessible via cycle paths. The staff were friendly. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. ANPR access with height limits during quiet hours. Wi-Fi was a bonus.

We used the site as a base camp as we explored the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean.

Disliked * Pitches are small and closely placed, but privacy has been maintained through clear guidance on each pitch layout.
* You can occasionally hear noise from the adjacent A40, as well as small planes flying into and out of Gloucestershire Airport. This is not a fault of the site itself, but it should be noted while booking.
