Great site with good facilities, decent size level pitches.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked We had a lovely 2 night stop at Crowdecote campsite,it had everything you needed there, toilets, showers and a place to wash your pots up in, picnic tables and fire pits. Steve the owner was very friendly and came out to greet us when we arrived and explained it all to us, then left us to set up. The Packhorse Inn is a 5 mins walk away and serves delicious meals at reasonable prices if you don’t fancy cooking and Buxton is only 6/7 miles away. Definitely would come again next year in the summer.
Disliked Nothing to dislike about the site itself but we were pitched close to the road and though there wasn’t much traffic as it’s a side road, occasionally during the night you can hear cars that were driving too fast down it.

Liked This site was a perfect base for exploring the Peak District. The site itself is basic but there is everything that you need. The toilets/shower were clean (and the shower was hot!). The staff were friendly and I’d definitely stay here again.

From the manager: There's a running theme I've noticed when the weather turns cold and wet. We get a touch of the old "picky knickers" in our reviews. Nothing terrible, just niggling at little things.
"Showers were small" I've also noticed its quite common for someone to pick up on something written in a previous review and it becomes an issue out of nowhere. Same showers we've had for years now, never had a complaint about them being too small... then all of a sudden two within a few weeks of each other.
We provide good, clean, free to use showers.
"Bins could be better" a pretty useless comment. Better how? Are they emptied when full? Yup! Are they segregated for Recycling? Yup! Is it all kept pretty clean and tidy? Yup!
I did notice that, from the other sites you've left reviews for, we're the cheapest and most basic Campsite you've used. Clearly having a preference for a more commercial grade, which we clearly aren't and don't profess to be.
I hope this response has been of more use to potential guests than the actual review 😅
If you want to get away from the fussy pants brigade, get booked in here. We're open all year round.
