Peaceful friendly campsite
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Beautifully kept field campsite with well spaced pitches and clean and modern facilities. Even though we visited in peak season and it was full, the whole site has a lovely peaceful welcoming vibe. We appreciated the dog walk field to exercise our pup. The warden, Donna, was really helpful finding me some gaffa tape when we had a kit emergency which was really lovely. We didn’t make it to The Bulls Head Inn but it looked nice. We had a brilliant meal at The Barrel Inn 10 mins away at the top of the opposite hill (we’ve been there three times in recent years and always had a great meal/drink with a view). Really well located for both White and Dark Peaks if walking is your thing.
Disliked A few people have commented on needing more toilets etc which would be helpful but we really didn’t need to wait long for either.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Quiet, plenty of space and great toilets and showers. Also liked that you could hire a firepit with wood, firelighters etc all provided.
The local pub - The Bulls Head - is a short walk away and a great place for a couple of drinks.
Also walked over the fields to Eyam to the crafts place there for a coffee and shopping.

Liked Beautiful site for our first camping adventure. Great facilities, wash area, toilets and showers all clean and well kept. Short walk to the local pub where we had some great food. The WiFi was good which enabled us to watch a film for bed.

Liked Really nice camping grounds, with clean facilities (which is rare to find). Friendly wardens, overall great stay.
Disliked Only minor change would be to make sign at gate bigger as it is easily missed.

I am glad you would like to visit again and our wardens are a real asset to us!
The sign at the end if very small, this is very much a noted comment on your behalf.

From the manager: Hi
Thank you for your very kind review and for choosing to stay with us.
There are some lovely walks from the door and the pub is an amazing asset to us and offers a 10% discount for anyone staying with us
We did a shop for a year and I am afraid that no enough people supported the shop, so it was not viable, which is a shame. We do have eggs on site from our lovely wardens rescue hens :)
We now have a fridge and freezer space so if anyone is bringing their own cool supplies these can be kept cold :)
Please do come and see us again.
Really lovely site and layout, didn’t…
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Really lovely site and layout, didn’t feel over crowded at all. noticed what looked like a fridge/ freezer was being put in which will be a great addition for campers in tents.
Disliked not the owners fault but was a shame about a large group of campers making quite a lot of noise at night despite being advertised as a quiet site

From the manager: Thank you for your review and we have indeed now got a fridge freezer - it was being put in over the weekend.
We are quiet site but I think maybe the England match for a few mins caught people out when they scored 6 goals against France :).
I know it didn't last long so thank you for your patience, it does not obviously happened really on our site.
Could choose where to pitch up.…
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Could choose where to pitch up.
Disliked No hooks or stool for showers. Had no where to put clothes.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: There is a stool in the women's and lots of hooks in the mens and women's, so not sure why you did not see these hooks.
We will get a stool for the mens - there is just a small step one, so will get a bigger one thank you for letting us know.
