What customers say

This small, peaceful farm site offers stunning 360-degree countryside views and is praised for its friendly, helpful owner. Pitches are well-maintained with water and electricity, though some report them as sloping. It's considered a good base for walks and exploring nearby towns, with a local pub within walking distance. While basic and without toilets/showers, visitors found it excellent value and highly recommend it for a quiet getaway.

Liked Fantastic stay in a no frills campsite, great 360 views and such a nice owner who popped in once we were settled to give us some ideas on what places were available if we fancied a walk into the local village, will 100% be back, loved it 👍

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Spacious pitches with lovely views of the surrounding Derbyshire Dales. The owner rang on the morning before our arrival and gave us our pitch number and arrival instructions. We were just finished reversing into our pitch and he had already arrived to greet us. He was very friendly, and even gave us an information sheet about pubs and other local amenities. The site is in easy reach of the Tissington Trail.

There was an honesty box for reasonably priced fresh eggs from the farm. We enjoyed a box of delicious eggs!

The site is for units with their own toilet and washing facilities. Each pitch has a shared water tap and EHU. There’s a chemical waste point (green chemicals only). No dedicated grey waste point but used water can drain into the gravel or put into the edges. Very convenient and easy.

We loved the relaxed and peaceful feel and while we didn’t get much warm weather in our late March visit, we did get to sit out while the sun made a brief appearance and we really enjoyed the picturesque location. We hope to return soon and enjoy some more sunshine!

Disliked Nothing. Minimal facilities usually means a peaceful site and relaxing experience.

Local attractions

Valleys, lakes and moors are just waiting to be explored on foot or bike, with the Three Shires Head circular route (20 minutes’ drive) revealing waterfalls and rock pools for paddling. Serious cyclists can access the High Peak Trail in minutes, and if you didn’t bring the bikes, hire them at Parsley Hay (five minutes). It’s worth a potter around cute Peak District towns like Bakewell with its lovely Wye riverside walks, and Buxton (both 15 minutes), where you can catch performances at the grand opera house. There’s plenty on offer for culture vultures too; Chatsworth House is packed with art treasures and its extensive grounds make a perfect picnic spot, while you can explore Tudor-era rooms at fortified Haddon Hall (both 25 minutes). Top of the to-do list for kids may well be the thrill rides at Alton Towers (40 minutes), but if your children are younger, you might fancy an afternoon’s pirate-themed fun on gentle log flumes at Gulliver’s Kingdom or a cable-car ride up to the Heights of Abraham (both half an hour) outlook for cavern tours and fossil exhibitions.
