Non-electric grass tent pitch (four person)

Liked - Beautiful views and surroundings
- Easy access to walks
- Toilets/showers were generally clean and stocked (e.g. loo roll and soap)
- Lots of space

Disliked - Some issues with the washing up sinks getting blocked (I don't think this is their fault as they have big signs up saying to not put any food waste down the sinks)
- There was a beer festival on in the evenings which meant that the cafe was shut early - would have been nice if there was an food option for those of us not wanting to go to the event but to get food/drink.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (six person)

Liked Arrived here with little expectations as im not the kind of customer to go camping and expect the world. Its camping.
But Beltonville exceeded mine and my friends expectations, live music, beer festival & strongman.
The site has a really nice welcoming atmosphere about it which helps as more often than not, ive found campsite to be quite clicky. Especially in the warmer months when people turn up year after year.
However, none of that here.
The shop stocked a nice assortment of handmade/locally sourced things. The shop staff/owner were very helpful. Checking into the site was easy with a smile and a laugh.
The breakfast was of a good quality as was the coffee (always a good sign)

The camp grounds themselves was very well maintained, showers/toilets were clean and always had blue paper towels and toilet roll. And greeted by (im assuming) 2 site cats on more than 2 occasions when using them! Also within easy access of plenty of trails with beautiful scenery from everyone angle!!

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Being able to pick your own pitch and being surrounded by beautiful views made this trip worth sticking around for.

Disliked The facilities were extremely limited and basic with half of the campsite being provided with portaloos with no toilet paper or water and not maintained.
The men's toilets became blocked and unavailable resulting in them using the womens toilets which then left another huge queue.
There are only 4 showers and there was approximately 300 people staying at the site over the weekend, while the showers cost £1 for 4 minutes which is a shame when youre paying £25 a night for otherwise terrible facilities.
Washing up facilities are quite possibly the worst ive ever seen, with dribbling cold water and blocked drains, resulting in us having to carry pans of warm water from the toilet sinks to wash our pots.
The hosts were rude, perhaps due to the stress they're now under with trying to run so many different elements of the farm.
I overheard one of the owners introducing one of the campers to the campsite via the farm shop, ordering her not to take apart the walls or set fire to the fences rather than a kind welcoming introduction to the farm as you would expect upon arrival.
Such a shame as we stayed a few years ago and we did not feel this way about the campsite then

Non-electric grass tent pitch (six person)

Liked Just what we wanted- good views, friendly staff, fire pits to hire, lovely shop on site, clean toilets and showers, wash area for your pots and drinking water available. Great for a weekend away to chill with your mates. Breakfast was nice at the cafe. Showers are a constant perfect temp too.

Disliked Yes the toilets are busy at 8am but only the women’s so just avoid the rush hour as for the showers, they are busy between 8am and 11am so again easy to work round.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Price was great for end of August, close to lots of good bike rides and walks with the Monsal trail. Cafe was good as well.

Disliked Nowhere near enough facilities for the amount of people on the site. Van was hit several times by footballs and tennis balls. Far too many people on the site but it was a beer festival weekend so partly understandable. We didn't know when we booked. With the amount of people it just became a free for all and we nearly got blocked in by a late arriving motorhome. There was no way the site management could keep on top of so many people.

Local attractions

Squidged between Bakewell and Buxton (15 minutes’ drive from either), Beltonville has a nifty location near two of Derbyshire’s most popular towns. Make a foray to the former for River Wye wanders, passing by the medieval arched stone bridge, and the latter to see around some stunning architecture. Highlights on the heritage trail around Buxton Spa include the Georgian-era crescent, the Roman baths and the cupola-topped Devonshire Dome; for older buildings, the village of Castleton (25 minutes), lying in the lee of Mam Tor, has the Norman ruins of Peveril Castle to peer at. This spot’s also the gateway to the Blue John caves, the only places on the planet where the semi-precious Blue John stone can be found. Cast your eye over the largest intact piece ever mined on display at Treak Cliff Cavern (25 minutes), which also has some rather sizable stalactites and stalagmites for geologist types to gaze lovingly upon. Those aiming to give their walking boots a good workout here have plenty of choice: it's well located not just for the Monsal Trail and Millers Dale but also Chee Dale, Tideswell Dale and Winnets Pass.
