Great stay
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location is perfect for walking around and to go to see Thor's cave.
Big space and bar not far away, only 5 minutes walk.
Disliked I imagine it's quite windy place,
It is just my opinion.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Really close to lots of local walks, local pub was nice. Facilities well maintained. Little one loved all the farm animals around!
Disliked Big group of teenage kids on a trip of some sort slamming the toilet doors and forming a group after 10pm was an issue when travelling with a child. This was the only downside and understand not the campsite owners fault and also just bad timing.

Disliked Not much to dislike. Just field with a portaloo, bin and a tap. Can't moan for the price.

Perfect place for peak district camping
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Such a lovely place to camp. Really quiet and peaceful, beautiful scenery and a really clean campsite. The little food cafe in the morning was really nice and had good prices. It's only 3/4 mile from Thors cave and other nice walks. Couldn't fault this site at all.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely large field, well maintained and level pitches. There's a field of cows next door and they're very cute :) handful of other campers there and kids running round having a good time
On site there's a portaloo and a garbage bin, just outside the gate are more public toilets and a little shop that sells teas and coffees and I believe food/icecream. Pub is 2 minute walk away and is very quaint
I booked this last minute. Paid and set off and I'm glad I chose here. Just bare in mind this site is very back to basics and you get exactly what is described on the page, so take enough water with you :)

Liked Lovely flat field. Beautiful views very close to Thor’s Cave. Very nice burger/bacon cobs + coffee and locally made ice cream pots was a nice touch.

Liked Very close to thors cave and manifold valley. Not far from milldale. Very quiet. Cheap. Flat and no lumps or bumps.
Disliked Not a dislike exactly… Just a field, tap, toilet and bin!

Fantastic mini break, great communication. Excellent site.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked How remote it was. Back to basics and plenty of walks and views a short distance away. Having a portaloo on the site was good. Level ground and very clean. The fact the car can be parked next to the tent is a great idea.
Disliked The toilets being locked so early in summer months.
