Liked Lovely large pitches with great facilities. Our waste pipe wasn't long enough but the site had some to borrow. The doggy walking field was large with a stream running through it for them to cool off. Lovely clean facilities, quiet, not far from main shopping areas and Lovely local pubs.

Liked New toilet block (although often out of loo paper & a strange set up for the showers)

Disliked The "large" pitch could only just accommodate a caravan, awning & car. Nowhere to sit outside. So I needed to park car elsewhere. The gravel was large, so difficult to use awning pegs and had to wear thick sole footwear all the time (even with 2 groundsheets). Access to site via a lifting barrier - you have to call a mobile number for it to open (ie ensure you have a working phone in your car) often had to call it a couple of times. The barrier isn't far enough off the road, so when you 1st arrive (prior to being told the access mobile number to call) a car and caravan unit is blocking the road. We held up other road users whilst looking for a warden 😞. The hedgerows were unkempt, so the promised lovely views from pitches didn't exist. Just the white gravel of all the pitches. You cant use mobile washing airers, site rules want you to hang on communal lines - so it feels more like a residential or seasonal site than a touring site. Location is good for accessing the local attractions etc, but off-putting on arrival as its neighbour's are a ramshacked industrial estate and permanent travelers site.

However, I would like to clarify a few points for the benefit of future guests. Our large touring pitches are designed to accommodate a caravan, awning and car, and the vast majority of our guests use them without needing to park elsewhere. The gravel surface has been chosen deliberately to provide excellent drainage in all weather conditions. While we appreciate this may not suit everyone's preference, it helps ensure pitches remain usable throughout the season. The entry barrier is operated by telephone for security purposes, and the access number is provided in guests arrival information. If anyone experiences difficulties, we're always available to assist. Regarding the hedgerows, they are maintained regularly whilst taking in considerations such as wildlife nesting and whilst the hedges naturally change throughout the season, we do not recognise the description that there are "no views" from the pitches. We appreciate your comments about the toilet block and continue to monitor supplies to ensure the facilities remain well stocked. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We value all comments, as they help us identify areas where we can improve. We wish you well with your future travels.

Liked A lovely central area and shadey tree in the centre with large pitches surrounding it. Quiet, and friendly. The facilities were immaculately clean, and a helpful array of notices and information. Great local pub, and a dog walk with stream close to the pub, leading to a fabulous farm shop (dont miss these!) Previous reviews mentioned cow smells and farm noises etc - get real, what else do you expect from a working farm and rural location! It all added to the experience and wasnt at all overwhelming. And as for the odd newly created cobwebs- for goodness sake, how petty. And we were grateful for the local lane, it helped us get to and from the site, in fact, a vital requirement hahaha. (But maybe the owners could do something about the roadworks, about 10 miles away?) With free wifi (although sporadic- we are in the country!).
