Electric grass tent pitch (large)
Liked Lovely views, clean facilities.
Disliked Turned up at check in to the place entirely deserted. Gates shut and the phone numbers not working. Not great when you’ve traveled 2 hours and it was 30 degrees.
Just let ourselves in and found a cleaner who told us where to go and made sure the toilets would be unlocked for us at night. Spoke to the chef who said that there was a school group staying and normally you cannot book to stay but we somehow must have slipped through the cracks. Said someone would come to talk to is but no one ever did. We basically had the campsite to ourselves, but felt like the pitches were very close together.
Facilities were quite far from the electric pitches (we chose to stay far away as the ones closest were right next to where the children were staying). We ended up hopping the fence to use the toilets in the Big Sheep campsite as it was closer.
Reading the reviews it seems turning up to the place abandoned is a common theme. An email to people to explain what to do and where to go would eliminate this issue.
2 stars for the lovely, helpful members of staff who we managed to find and seemed equally as confused as to where the hell everyone was.

Kiwi Hut microlodge
Liked Beautiful campsite! We stayed in the Kiwi cabin which was close to the facilities but had plenty of privacy. Toilets and showers were very clean. Communal fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, microwave and kettle! Mini fridge in the cabin to ourselves was such a bonus! Was lovely and warm, cosy and clean! Weather was awful so we didn’t get a chance to explore but are very keen to come back! Local pub does fantastic food! Genuinely the nicest campsite we’ve stayed at!
Disliked Nothing! Although a mini kettle in the cabin would a nice extra touch (although there is one available in the communal area)

From the manager: Hi Jamie I'm glad you had a great stay despite the weather, there is nothing nicer than feeling cosy in a little log cabin when the weather is so awful outside. Thanks for all the great comments, I will take the kettle comment on board, hope to see you again. Kind regards Helen
