Liked Modern and minimal. Perfectly positioned for full access to York and beyond. The site was a refreshing change from the traditional and the sauna was a completely luxurious surprise. Staff were friendly and unobtrusively maintained the immaculate level of the whole site.

Disliked Push button showers were huge but no seating and very little shelving/hanging options : immaculate but too minimal. The pitches were a tad small but perfectly planned out.

Liked We had had to stop due to torrential rain on our trip to the site, but our spirits were lifted immediately as we were greeted by the wonderfully efficient and outstandingly friendly team at reception. After visiting the Summerhouse containing both tourist information and local hostelry menus we were led to our pitch and shown the amenities. We had opted for "no electric hook up" and were therefore given the freedom to choose a spot in the designated space, from where we had direct access to the ponds. We left reluctantly after our 3 night stay vowing to return again and playing a quick round of Pitch and Putt before setting off home. The site is conveniently located and wonderfully peaceful. The toilet block is modern and clean (literally a home-from-home) and the shop is well stocked with local ice cream and alcohol (it is a holiday after all!). Due to restrictive weather conditions we were unable to take advantage of the beautifully maintained woodland area, but felt the love none-the-less. We have instantly become life-long fans of this site and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Back-of-Beyond. xx
