Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch (large)
Liked Great location for a stopover and good facilities for families or couples, people travelling with tents, caravans, or motorhomes.
Beautiful views over Lough Ree, and very welcoming host.
Disliked Quite busy, but we were exhausted after a long day travelling so wouldn’t say this is a negative, more a personal feeling based on our own circumstances.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch
Liked This is a special campsite.
The location is lovely, very peaceful, calm, but with a slightly magical feel.
Loved the Nook, the Fairy Circle, Goat Mountain, and the hidden reed garden for dog walking. Even the showers have a special quality that must be appreciated.
Hilary, the owner is a lovely soul, and we really hope to return one day.

Ainsworth Park electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch (adults only)
Liked Poplar Grove Farm is a site suitable for couples, solo travellers, and families alike, the owners are friendly and welcoming. The location is particularly peaceful, yet close to the town of Garstang, just over 2 miles away and there’s great play areas for children.
Disliked Not great if you are in a motorhome and don’t have another vehicle or don’t want to unhitch, the walk into Garatang is a long a busy road, often with no footpaths.
In addition, as the site has extended, there seems inadequate facilities for rubbish collection and recycling (we had to walk past an open skip to our pitch every time we were going anywhere), and toilet facilities could be increased.
These are areas that can improved however and would make a hugely positive difference if steps were taken to address the issues.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked The peaceful location, the beautiful river walk, the friendly atmosphere from people on the site as well as the wardens, great for a stop over on a longer journey.
Disliked It’s a small point, however an important one in that first impressions are not the best, particularly if on the hard standing pitches.
The bins could probably do to be a bit more discreet, and the 2 older statics look a bit out of place, but once you get into the site it’s really well kept and lovely to wander round.

Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked The location, very easy to find yet peacefully tucked away off the main road.
Field available for dog walking, or a pleasant mile and a half to Saundersfoot beach along quiet, country lanes.
The best thing about the site however, is the atmosphere when you are there. It felt super traditional, welcoming, and ideal for families who enjoy the outdoor way of life.
Owner of the site was around if needed but clearly, privacy is respected.
There’s fire pits available to hire with logs and kindling, with an honesty box system for payment.
The shower block and toilets, whilst not the newest, are spotless and the hot water was the perfect temperature.
Just a lovely, special little place to stay.
Disliked Having to leave!

Electric grass pitch
Liked The views over the bay were spectacular, especially at sunset.
The facilities were of a good standard and easily accessible.
The people on the site were very friendly and welcoming.
Disliked No immediate area for dog walking, other than on or around the site, too far and not really safe to walk to the beach from the site because there is no footpath available.
Definitely a drive to the beach, which is not always the ideal solution.

Seafield fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The peaceful location is quite extraordinary, I felt like my own breath was too loud at times! And yet, you are literally a 5 minute walk to the garden centre, (you can’t miss it on the way in, even though the entrance is very discreet and in keeping with the surroundings), and only a 6 or 7 minute walk to the beautiful River Lune estuary.
Head south towards Glasson Dock, and you soon come across The Stork hotel / bar, ideally for liquid refreshments and a bite to eat! Or, head towards Lancaster if you are feeling more energetic.
This site is spotless, with an abundance of wildlife to spot, and friendly wardens, should you need them.
Would return in a heartbeat.
