Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Well, what can i say, a lovely site, well managed and so very quiet. I booked at the last minute, it was almost full. Slightly disapointed i could not book to the pub inside for tea (we had the pooch) could have sat outside but there were a few wasps (i hate wasps) 😆 not the sites fault obvs.. and if i had taken more notice i could have organised a takeaway instead that said my bad but only saw the paperwork the following day. Amenities were good, clean, however i do think that the dish washing facilities could benefit from a rubish bin. (I had Limited mobility on this occasion) i only booked for one night but it is a lovely base for lots of things nearby. I have to say the toilets in the pub were lovely, i would have given a 5* for those alone :) x
Lovely place and the beer garden at the top of the site in the sunshine was lovely, very reasonable. :)
Disliked Just the lack of the bin at the dish washing area, and the doors to the toilets close outside in so i could see through the gap. (Self concious) but a minor very minor point and no one in the world would ever mention about it except me sorry :)

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch
Liked Beautiful place, little shop ten minute walk away, peaceful and delightful. We will definately stay again. We were there on the may bank holiday (few too many flies) no ones fault, they didn't appear to be the munching kind so all was good. Pitches had plenty space and the shade under the trees (because it was so hot) was very welcoming. Such a lovely place. The shower and toilet were always clean, and the dish washing for all basic the water was boiling. Out name was on the board at the front for the van pitch, very organised and would recommend! X
Disliked There was only one shower with toilet for both men and women. It didnt really matter to us as we had a toilet in the van and wasnt bothered on timings for shower. (A small dislike) very minimal and it certainly didnt ruin anything! Will go again loved it !

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Spacious pitches, very tidy, well kept and so very quiet. Ideal location with a pub five minutes walk away which is dog friendly, food (very tasty) and drinks reasonably priced. There is a lovely dog walk close by and the owner of the site is so nice, very chatty and nothing is a bother.
Dish washing facilities are basic but adequate and the showers/toilets have very hot water on tap and are nipping clean.
Disliked Only one tiny tiny tiny thing. Its a bit of an internet blackspot. The internet that was on site didnt really work very well and the ee and three we had didnt work too brilliantly either. I do not go away for internet nor phone signal so this was great for us but just incase its necessary for you to make alternative arrangements.i will be back as sometimes off grid is what we need.

Laundry facilites in site with great dish washing facilities as well. (Even somewhere to sit and read a book). Plenty seating areas and picnic tables dotted around.
Disliked There is not anything to dislike about this place. Its beautiful!!

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (small)
Liked The tea room opposite in the heritage centre. Plenty of space, lovely food and resonably priced. Great cup of tea as well, with freindly staff which made a fuss of the dog too. Would definately recommend.
The site was very busy (bank holiday peoples) but so quiet, people repected noise and other travellers as well as being very well organised. Beautiful walks nearby and a lovely park right next to the camp field with very easy access for walking the dog/ just having a peaceful 5 minutes on a bench seat. Lovely place would go again.

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked The family feel.. i was incredibly stressed when we arrived. With a dog that wasnt used to travelling in a newly converted camper van, a mother with parkinsons made for a tough day. I arrived, the lady at reception was lovely, so welcoming, made me relax straight away. The pitch was easy to find, relatively level, the pub was dog freindly and served wonderful drinks etc. the ruins of the castle were fascinating and the areas to stroll in the grounds were clean, tidy and quiet at night. I would 100% recommend this place, we so will be back.
Disliked The ferral children breaking the new trees, i had a word and they stopped. Why are children dragged up and not raised with respect .
