What a find! Absolutely stunning, luxury…

May 2026

Liked What a find! Absolutely stunning, luxury site with beautiful scenery and A* facilities. The toilets and showers were like a hotel, wash room even had a microwave available and everything was pristine and fully stocked. We arrived within about an hour of booking and had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts… perfect last night of our road trip around Wales and would definitely spend more nights here.

Disliked Absolutely nothing, I couldn’t find fault if I tried!

Liked Gorgeous little site! Booked last minute and had a lovely warm welcome from Mary as I arrived, along with help with directions for a lovely walk to the nearby beach. Site is spacious and well kept, pitches are huge and facilities are great. Would definitely stay again.

Sept 2025

Liked I had an absolutely amazing 2 nights on this site. Booked and turned up an hour later (after a horrible experience at my planned site) and received a lovely warm welcome from the owner. He gave me a choice of pitches, provided me with all the info on facilities and was very welcoming. I chose a large, well kept pitch with an incredible view… sunset spoiled only by the clouds! This site is very peaceful, some traffic noise from the A road nearby but overall a very relaxing site and perfect for what I needed. Facilities are basic but clean and functional. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Sept 2025

Liked I was greeted by two very friendly little dogs who took me for a walk around the tearooms.

Disliked Took 20 minutes of looking around (with the dogs) to find someone when I arrived to find my pitch. The chap I eventually found didn’t particularly seem to want me there. Got to the pitch, looked absolutely nothing like the photos, it’s a small area that’s been carved out of the hill so surrounded on 3 sides by muddy walls, not big enough to set up my side awning without spilling into the access for the next pitches. About 10 minutes into setting up, and starting to think I’d chosen the wrong site for my much needed 2 nights of relaxation, I’d already spotted at least 15 wasps trying to get into my car and tent. Everywhere I looked there was another one. Clearly a nest is somewhere on or around that pitch. I packed everything back away and left the site. £60 down the drain, which having now been to the site is excessive for the pitch I booked (bluebell) 3 wasps also joined me on the car ride to another site :(

From the manager: Dear Lou, We are sorry you had a bad experiencewith us, and didn't feel you could come and speak to us bebore you left. Wasps have been horrific this year in the uk. Experts in the 'wasp world' are calling it a bumper year for wasps due to the warm and dry spring! Everyone we have spoken to has said they have been especially bad. We are on a weekly basis looking for nests as we have noticed an increase, but are yet to find a nest anywhere onsite. The site is located right next to a forest, so maybe they are in there. Something that is very much out of our control unfortunately. At this time of year they are very placid and are leaving their colonies to die. With regards to your comments about the muddy walls and carved in the hills. This site was set up this year, and each pitch is dug into the soil to give privacy between pitches, with individual prviate look outs into the forestry and views infront. All the work completed has all been planted with wild flowers, so hopefully next year they will come through with some colour. With a mix of no rain, its been inpossible to establish a new wild flower garden. The site is at 1000 feet above sea level- flowers don't come through straight away at this height- things take a little longer. The day you arrived we were closed as a tearoom, so i can only apologise you didn't easily find someone. You are given the contact details so you were able to call us, and it is signposted throughout the site to go to the wooden doors at the front of the property where there are instructions fo campers staying. Unfortunately, on this occasion we didn't forfil your expectations, but if you had spoken to us onsite we would of been able to move you to another location onsite. Hopefully you will give us another chance in the future. Kind regards Ginny

Aug 2025

Liked Very pleasant site in a peaceful location, great pitch size and clean facilities. Lovely owner, Sam, who called by once I was set up to make sure everything was ok. Great communication ahead of arrival too!

Disliked Woken up around 2:30am by someone on a neighbouring pitch seeming to have a repair done to their vehicle… lots of banging and drilling sounds. Not sure what was going on but no fault of the owner so I wouldn’t judge my whole stay by this. £25 for a pitch with no electric, and no showering facilities seems a bit steep, but I wouldn’t be put off staying again.

May 2025

Liked Friendly welcome. Pub on site was handy and decent food

Disliked Definitely not the “quiet” site it’s described as. There’s a high speed railway running alongside which I only discovered after setting up, was kept awake most of the night by trains passing. The only time I didn’t hear them was when someone was using a petrol strimmer to cut grass for around an hour from 7pm.
