Location was only 20 minutes drive…

Jul 2026

Liked Location was only 20 minutes drive to Bala.

Disliked During our stay, we were disappointed by several issues that affected our experience. Although we booked a hardstanding pitch, there was no designated space for cars to park, and it was difficult to move around the vehicles blocking access. A large family group appeared to take over much of the surrounding area, pitching right up to our boundary and even using our electric hook-up. Several members of their group who were not staying on the site were also parking in the camping area. Their children and teenagers repeatedly played ball games across our pitch, showing little awareness of other guests. There was no quiet time observed, and no intervention from the site owner to manage noise or overcrowding. Overall, it felt as though the site was trying to fit in as many people as possible, resulting in cramped conditions and a lack of respect for personal space. This significantly impacted our stay.

Nice for cabin stays but not for tent camping

Jul 2022

Liked Toilet were clean. Fire pit ready and available. Lots of information in the welcome link.

Disliked Hard to find the area for camping on and when find it was like a afterthought peiace of land for tent camping. The ground was too hard to put your tent pegs in, this was due to the thick roots of the forest around you. No contact for their site manager team to check we were OK. The exit was hard to leave due to the cars parked for the lake. Over guest staying throught the peaice of field was to allowing their pets to use as a toilet stop.

From the manager: Kay, Thank you for your review, we are extremely sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We did message you beforehand with our site info, contact details and welcome pack, we’re glad you found that information useful. In that message there are clear instructions on how to locate the camping field and where to park etc. It also clearly advises if you have any issues to contact us directly on the number provided. We received no communication from you at all. We try not to be overbearing site owners so wouldn’t necessarily come to see you unless you required assistance as. As you can probably appreciate with the potential to have over 100 people onsite at any time we try to keep things as contactless as possible to prevent the spread of any dieses such as COVID. Some guest unfortunately are not as considerate as other when it comes to their pets, we do provide a dog waste bin on the field and it is check 3 x a week by our maintenance man to ensure it’s as clean as possible. You had the entire camping field to yourselves during your stay, so could have pitched in any location you wished, we do not force people to pitch in one particular place. The campsite was actually the first campsite on the Cumbrian way and has been in existence for over 40 years. We recently invested over £20,000 installing new, high spec toilets and showers so I can assure you it’s not an afterthought Finally I can only apologise for he issues with cars at the bottom of our drive on Monday and Tuesday. As soon as we get hot weather it becomes a real issue. We have raised this issue several times with the police, who are not interested as it is a civil matter, we have also spoken with the council regarding it who also have no interest in doing anything. We personally feel it’s extremely dangerous at times and try to do everything we can to stop this unfortunately the abuse and aggression we get met with when we try to ask tourists not to park there is unbelievable. I would suggest you make a complaint to Cumbria county council highways department as the more complaints received the quicker they will do something about it Regards Crake Valley

Amazing clean and friendly site.

May 2022

Liked The whole camp site was amazing. Terry and Jane (owners) are so friendly and have created a lovely homily cite site for you to stay on. Very spacey pitches with showers, wash room and much much more that you can't want. Even down to games or books if its rains.

Disliked Nothing. Having to come home
