Lots of positives: close to Hinton…

Aug 2026

Liked Lots of positives: close to Hinton Admiral train station, Texaco fuel and shop, and the Cat and Fiddle bar/restaurant. Set a reasonable distance from the main road. Decent layout where there is one long track you can camp off with your car and tent. Friendly staff waiting at the cafe. Good scenery.

A positive and unique and memorable experience

Jul 2022

Liked The effort to the stay a unique and memorable experience. The site manager put a lot of effort into the Saturday night music and communal areas which is very unique. I emailed with a question and got a very fast response.

Disliked Nothing disliked but just make sure you understand it’s not a typical mainstream campsite. It made no promises it didn’t keep - like there’s no typical shower block but it never claimed to have that.

Good if you want the south west end of the new Forrest.

Apr 2022

Liked Shop selling beers, friendly service, lots of options for fires and BBQs. New Milton train station is close especially on the bike. Easy access to Bournemouth. Good allocated space and simple check in. Water tap. Cleaning facilities.

Disliked Might make more sense for women to have separate toilets than separate showers because men can be very dirty. There are sites with quieter and slower roads in the middle of the new Forrest but that’s not the fault of this site.

From the manager: Hi Chris Thanks for taking the time to review camping at the manor. I would like to point out I am a 'pop up' camp site and all pop up sites only operate for 28 days a year. For me to provide you with separate toilets the cost would close the operation or Increase your pitch price to that of the other sites around the new forest which I feel is too much for the idea of camping. Most of the more expensive site do NOT provide seperate toilets in any case. My toilets are cleaned at least 5 times every day and I'm consistently told they are the cleanest toilets people have used camping. I totally agree with you that some people are dirty or lazy or just dont listen to simple instruction... 1.pee in the round hole after lifting the plastic round thing called a 'toilet seat'. Not around it Not near it Not anywhere but the hole. If your doo dah is to short to reach I recommend stepping forward or bending the knees. If that fails sit like a lady and do the dangle. 2. Back away from the hole and pour the sawdust in. NOT from 10 yards as you will wear it and look like you have been taking a funny substance In secret. 3.Put the plastic white thing often called the loo seat and the odd looking thing called the lid that men dont understand the use of. 4. Wash your hands as it makes picking the nose if the way back to your tent so much more hygienic. Joking aside ,it cost £10,000 just to put the showers and toilets in and the feedback had been fantastic about both. I hope having the toilets the way they are w9nt stop you returning. I would ask that you talk to us directly on site though as marking us down when we work so hard manning the site from 7am until 11pm every day is always disappointing. I hope you had a comfortable journey home. Best regards Stumpy
