What customers say
A neat, welcoming spot with great facilities, boasting sea views and coastal walk access. Clean loos, a good shop, pool and chippy loved. Busy at peak times but super for families. Minor upkeep bits noted, but highly recommended with return plans.

Had the potential to be good but unfortunately very disappointed
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (overflow)
Liked The entertainment
Disliked Cleanliness of the entire site especially the washrooms and the pool
The overflow camping was a 10 min walk to the shower and toilet block and the only facilities were some horrendous portaloos that were not cleaned once during our stay.
The site was noisy and no one asking people to keep the noise down ppl were partying till gone midnight not great when I’m there with my 8 year old child.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Adam.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the entertainment during your stay.
We are sorry to hear the overflow field and facilities did not meet your expectations. The overflow area is used during the busiest periods when the main camping areas are already full, and it is more basic than the main park. The main toilet and shower facilities are located on the main site, so there is a walk from parts of the overflow field.
That said, we do feel your review is extremely harsh when the 10 out of 10 review immediately before this one stayed in exactly the same area at the exact same time and had a completely different experience.
The facilities and portaloos are cleaned and checked regularly, but during very busy periods they can deteriorate quickly depending on how guests use them. We cannot control how every guest leaves the facilities between cleans.
With regards to noise, we did not receive any noise complaints over the weekend. Security visited all fields during their evening checks and had no complaints raised with them. If guests are causing unreasonable disturbance late at night, this needs to be reported to the team at the time so it can be dealt with directly.
We are sorry the stay was not for you, but we do not feel this review gives a fair reflection of the park or the efforts made by the team during a very busy period.
Really enjoyed. Would return again.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (overflow)
Liked Facilities:swimming pool, play area, pub, entertainment
Disliked Inconsiderate neighbours, overflow field was very busy (but I guess to be expected with bank holiday weekend) access to field muddy and slippy

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Stephen.
We are pleased to hear you liked having the swimming pool on site.
We are sorry to hear you felt the toilets and general cleanliness were not as they should have been during your stay. The facilities are cleaned and checked regularly throughout the day, but during very busy periods they can unfortunately be left in a poor condition very quickly by some guests between cleans.
Crows Nest was extremely busy over the bank holiday period, and the weather conditions were also against us, with more mud and mess being carried around the site and into the facilities than usual. While our team work hard to keep on top of the park, cleanliness also relies on guests using the facilities respectfully and leaving them as they would hope to find them.
Thank you for your feedback.
Really enjoyed our stay kids loved…

From the manager: Thank you for your fantastic review, Linnet.
We are really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and that the children loved the swimming pool.
It is great to know the entertainment and breakfast sandwich cabin both added to your visit too.
Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back to Crows Nest again soon.
Nowt…

Liked Nowt
Disliked Disliked how it was ran absolutely wild wasn’t fit for purpose dogs running about running in our tent shitting everywhere reported this nowt was done
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review.
We strongly reject the claims made here.
You have stated that this was reported and that “nowt was done”, but that is not true. As you confirmed to us yourself by email, this was not reported to the team at the time. To then leave a public review claiming that it was reported and ignored is extremely unfair and misleading.
Dogs must be kept under control on the park and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them. If dogs were running into your tent or fouling around your pitch, this should have been reported immediately so staff could investigate, identify the guests involved and deal with it properly.
We cannot act on something we are not made aware of. It is simply wrong to claim that nothing was done when we were never given the opportunity to do anything during your stay.
We are sorry you did not enjoy your visit, but we do not accept a false version of events being presented as fact.
Definitely worth a visit , we planning another already

We love Crows Nest and now…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked We love Crows Nest and now come every year. The site is fantastic for children and adults. My kids particularly loved the play park, entertainment and swimming. The site is also very well located making Scarborough and Bridlington a short drive away. The shower blocks are clean and tidy also.
Disliked The only issue we had whilst staying is the pool changing facilities and the pool area being generally dirty and it felt unclean. Also this can't be helped but the wind on the top of the hill is bad even when gentle, so remember to bring storm straps for the tent.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, Jessica.
We are really pleased to hear you love Crows Nest and now visit every year.
It is great to know the children enjoyed the play park, entertainment and swimming pool, and that you find the location so convenient for Scarborough and Bridlington.
We are glad the shower blocks were clean and tidy, and we appreciate your comments regarding the pool changing facilities. These areas are checked regularly, but during busy periods they can unfortunately be left untidy very quickly depending on how guests use them.
As you mention, being on the top of a cliff does mean the site can be exposed to the wind at times, so storm straps are a sensible idea for tents.
Thank you for recommending us, and we look forward to welcoming you back again next year.
Family place with option of pool…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (overflow)
Liked Family place with option of pool and well stocked shop.
Nice option of fish and chips and other takeaway food over the weekend.
Disliked The cleanliness of the toilet and washing amenities was poor.
Over the stay, it declined further as the days went on. The portoloos as you can imagine were awful.
The lower toilet block was filthy with toilet paper thrown everywhere, the upper block declined, again became filthy. Many times the washing areas for pots were a mess. Other campers commenting the same.
The changing area in the swimming pool again filthy.
Swimming pools became full quickly, it is small, booking system at peak times would be beneficial.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
We are pleased to hear you found Crows Nest a good family place, with the option of the pool, a well stocked shop and food available over the weekend.
We are sorry to hear the toilet, washing and pool changing facilities were not as you would have liked during your stay. August bank holiday weekend is the busiest time of the year, and the facilities are under constant heavy use throughout the day.
They are cleaned and checked regularly, but during peak periods they can be left in a poor condition very quickly by some guests between cleans. Toilet paper being thrown around, washing areas being left in a mess and portaloos being misused are all frustrating for other guests and for the staff who have to keep dealing with them.
The overflow field is used at the busiest times when the main camping areas are already full, and portable toilets are provided there for convenience. We appreciate they are not the same as the main toilet blocks, but they do provide an additional facility for guests staying in that area.
With regards to the pool, it is advertised as a smaller family pool with slides, not a large leisure complex. It can naturally become busy during peak times, especially when the weather encourages more people indoors.
Thank you for your feedback.

Good site, just not perfect.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (overflow)
Liked The pool was a nice touch. Chilled and relaxed atmosphere, good shop on site. Entertainment is good and the pub is also very good.
Disliked Water points are a long way from the overflow field (majority of tent pitches). Beers on tap aren’t very good. Ice in the shop felt like they’d broken down normal sized ice bags into tiny little bags and sold them at £1.50 a pop. Play park - we didn’t see as it’s a long way away from the bottom field.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Matt.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the pool, relaxed atmosphere, shop, entertainment and pub during your stay.
With regards to the overflow field, pitches are not designated, so guests choose where they pitch within the available space. This means the distance to water points, facilities or other areas of the park will depend on where guests decide to set up.
The overflow field is used during the busiest periods when the main camping areas are already full, so it is more basic than other areas of the park.
Thank you for recommending us, and we are glad you enjoyed the site overall.
