  • Family-run dog-friendly farm site in Cropredy village
  • A 20-minute drive to British Motor Museum; 40 mins to Blenheim Palace
  • Wood-fired pizzas on busy weekends; a short walk to pubs and cafés
Fancy a farm stay, but not so keen on the idea of navigating little country lanes? Set off to Oxfordshire and The Old Dairy Farm Caravan and Camping: getting here involves a mere 10-minute detour from the M40 at Banbury. That location makes this a most handy spot for motorway stopovers, but there’s plenty around to please those who choose to stay longer too. However long you stay at this family-run farm, you’ll not want to miss out on meeting the pygmy goats and free-range chickens and peering into the aviary; once the kids have done that, send them off for a proper run about on the large recreational field to tire them out before bedtime. Handy too are the smart and well-maintained facilities, including a toilet block, showers, a washing-up area, water supply and Elsan point. The wood-fired pizza oven gets going on busy weekends (and it’s also available for private hire if you’re having a gathering). Don’t worry if there’s no pizza action while you’re here: it’ll take just a few minutes to walk to Cropredy’s pubs, cafés and shop (or its play park). It’s also possible to walk to the Oxford Canal and River Cherwell for waterside wanders, and a short drive will get you out into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for more walks, plus golf courses, fishing lakes and National Trust estates. In the main this is a peaceful site, but it's worth noting that a rail line passes fairly close by so you may hear a bit of noise from the pitches (or even spot trains – much to the delight of young rail enthusiasts).

Liked What a treat! Absolutely magical, we had no problems whatsoever. A definite add to the list to come back again, a quirky little campsite! it was a quiet, undisturbed atmosphere which we enjoyed, peaceful but fun. Even down to the local area which made the campsite spot an even more pleasent stay for us all. The facilities were clean which is very useful for longer stays which we like, an overall different in-a-good-way vibe which made us all pretty much enjoy every second of our stay. Will definitely book again!

Liked Lots of space

Disliked Arrived mid afternoon Sunday to find shop, bar, kitchen, reception was already closed, everywhere you looked black bin liners and rubbish were piled everywhere and bins overflowing. We didn't stay turned around and drove to another site

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Shop is open 8am till mid day on a Sunday, roughly until the time the site clears and there's no one on site! Open 8am till 9pm Friday and Saturday and 8am-3pm weekdays. Pretty good for a campsite I thought?

Everywhere you looked rubbish - the site is 15acres, there was 4m2 of bin bags next to a fire bin that were placed there after the staff left to go home after an amazing weekend. I wish I saw this review before your statement so I could add a photo to show what how ridiculous you are!

Toilets, showers and communal areas had all been deep cleaned before your arrival!

Loved every minute of our trip and your site, thanks so much 🙏 😘

Unpowered grass site

Liked We thought this site was amazing. Honestly dont understand why so much negativity about the site...we stayed Sat to Monday and yes it was a very busy weekend, where much fun was had by many, which could have resulted in some extra rubbish and slightly more use of showers and toilets, but as rightly said by management there was lots of space in the commercial bins near the entrance. Sunday evening all the amenities we used were throughly cleaned...we were advised of rubbish points at check in by the young blonde lad in the shop, but maybe some signage is needed for folk to understand that the rubbish bags shoudnt be dropped next to the metal fire bins where ash is supposed to be disposed of (if they're not there already/think I saw a sign saying ash only!). The opening times of the bar and reception were clearly stated near the bar area too and it is only a 10min walk to the local pub down the rd, there's also plenty of amenities in the local area for food and drink to be collected. We will certainly be back and our friend said the same, its not a rip off site and everyone we met was friendly and helpful....well done guys and gals for a fab set-up xx💜💚xx absolutely love the bender for poorer weather too with the 2 burners in it ❤️

Disliked We would have brought shade if we had of known there wasnt much but that's just a tip for others. Park near the entrance side if you dont like train noise/donkey...didn't bother us! The only thing we had a slight issue with was the firewood that we couldn't get to burn lol 😂

Unpowered grass site

Liked Had a bar, park for kids, goats to feed and friendly staff.

Disliked Toilets in the fields need to be cleaned more regularly and could do with the lights being fixed. Also bins were overflowing.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The bins overflowing are fire bins, main bins at the entrance still had plenty of space. please don't fly tip and read the signs - laziness and negligence is dangerous when fire is concerned!

Excellent site and vibes on point.

Liked Our pitch was amazing had enough space and we were cornered with a lovely tree for shade

Disliked Being so close to the train tracks wasn't bad at all, like everyone said, but...There are those green fance (bushes) were there are a ,,milion" birds in them and at 5..6 in the morning they go crazy. Plus kids are playing in the playing zone with the balls and we got a barbecue nearly hit at least 10 times with that ball

Local attractions

Coming to the Cotswolds for a bit of fresh air and gentle activity? Set forth for fishing at Clattercote Reservoir, or tee off at Cherwell Edge Golf Course; both are about 10 minutes away by car. Country walking routes are plentiful too, of course, as are fine buildings to mooch around. Blenheim Palace (40 minutes’ drive) is perhaps the best known of all the Oxfordshire stately homes (and with good reason, for ’tis fab) but it’s worth taking a look at some others too, including Farnborough Hall (10 minutes), Sulgrave Manor (20 minutes) and Upton House and Gardens (20 minutes). For a break from the classic Cotswolds activities, head out to meet the big birds of Fir Tree Falconry (15 minutes) or sigh over all the shiny machines at the British Motor Museum (20 minutes). And if you’re in need of a tipple or two to accompany your barbecue back at base, there are some excellent local ones to be acquired at Hook Norton Brewery (25 minutes) and the Cotswolds Distillery (half an hour).
