What customers say
This family-friendly campground offers spacious sites and a relaxed atmosphere. Goats and birds are a hit with kids! Facilities are mostly clean but basic, needing updates. Great for canal walks & village access. Some mention train noise & occasional cleanliness/availability issues, but improvements are ongoing.

Check in was smooth despite it…
6-amp powered grass campsite
Liked Check in was smooth despite it being very busy. The option to be able to get food was great and bar
Disliked Not enough showers and toilets.

From the manager: Yet no queues on our busiest weekend.
Great for a night or two if you're a deep sleeper
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely site, great atmosphere with good shop, food facilities and seating. Kids loved the play area and bouncy castles
Disliked The freight train line runs 24 hours on Friday (can't confirm weekends), so close that you can see it through the hedge, disrupting your night's sleep. I booked for 2 nights and stayed only 1 night, using the second day for a full day's play with the kids and a BBQ lunch before packing up late in the afternoon. I wasn't that fussed on missing the second night due to great pricing.

Really lovely campsite
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This was our first time ever camping and was the perfect place to start. There was soo much for our little girl to do on site. The little shop was brilliant and really well priced. The food cooked on site was good and again really well priced. We are definitely coming back ! It has a really lovely family atmosphere.
Disliked The only reason for not the full 10 stars, was just the train passing by but i understand that cannot be helped. It didn’t seem to go past or sound its horn as much on the Saturday and Sunday as it did on the Friday.

No cords on emergency call buttons in disabled toilet, no coat hook
6-amp powered grass campsite
Liked Plenty of space, couldn’t understand why it was so empty, soon realised why
Disliked 2 trains every 10 mins, our pitch was the furthest away from the railway lines, but, there was a train whistle board which ment every train blew its horn right next to the site, engineering trains and freight trains running all night, we paid for 2 nights but went to another campsite at our own additional expense to get away from the noise, first time we have had to do this in over 20 years.shop not open, cafe not open, reception not open, all looked very tired and unloved…..not what was advertised at all, unable to get refund

Good facilities but a bit noisy for us.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great kids play area, spacious pitch. Loved watching the swifts and rabbits! It is very well set up for wet weather camping which is a real bonus. Good value.
Disliked The toilet block on the lower field was mostly boarded up. The busy train line running right past the site makes it quite noisy. I also found the England flags flying from people's tents quite intimidating in the current climate. I guess the overall atmosphere just wasn't for us. The facilities are really good though, and perhaps on a different weekend we would have felt differently about it.
