A aimé Family friendly site that is reasonably priced to book and has reasonable prices on site. The main green area had loads of activities to keep children entertained. This was all stopped at 9pm and the camp was nice and quiet for the night.

A aimé Ample ground to pitch, friendly atmosphere, decent ameneties, good assortment of food and drink available on site, flexible with check in.

N'a pas aimé Showers could do with space to put clothes on, mens shower block could do with bigger sinks and a couple of mirrors, other than that highly rated and would stay again.

A aimé We had a lovely stay at this campsite and would definitely recommend it for families. There’s a great children’s play area and bouncy castles available every day, which kept the kids entertained.

The on-site shop is really well stocked with all the basics, as well as plenty of treats. There’s also pizza and burgers served daily, along with a bar that stays open late and has lovely communal seating areas — perfect for relaxing in the evening.

The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained, with plenty of hot water. There are also multiple washing-up areas conveniently located around the site.

One of our favourite added touches was the goats and aviary on site, with the option to buy feed, which the children absolutely loved.

Overall, a fantastic family-friendly campsite with plenty of facilities and entertainment. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return!

A aimé We stayed as a group of 4 adults and 4 children across 2 pitches and had a really lovely time. Check-in was easy, and we were able to choose our own pitches, which meant we could pitch next to each other. There was plenty of space and the whole site had a very relaxed atmosphere.

There is an aviary and goats on site, which the children absolutely loved. Goat feed is available to buy in the shop. There’s also a small play park, two bouncy castles, goal posts and a table tennis table, so there was plenty to keep the children entertained.

The onsite shop is small but well stocked, and there are food facilities selling pizza, burgers, chips and other options, as well as a full English breakfast in the morning. We had pizza and chips, which were really nice. There are covered seating areas where you can eat and get some shade, along with a small bar with very reasonably priced drinks. There’s a small deposit for the glasses, which you get back when you return them. An ice cream van also comes around a couple of times a day, which the kids loved.

The facilities were good and always well stocked with hand soap and toilet paper, and they were cleaned regularly. There was occasionally some grass in the showers, but there is a squeegee mop available, so I think campers should also take some responsibility for leaving the facilities clean after use. Staff can’t realistically go in and clean after every single person, so a little consideration from everyone would make a difference.

The washing-up facilities were also good. Each sink has a cold tap, with a separate hot tap available for hot water. I didn’t notice this at first and started washing up with cold water, so it’s worth knowing where the hot tap is!

There is a freezer available for refreezing freezer packs, which was really useful. You can also hire fire pits and buy firewood. The children loved toasting marshmallows around the fire, which really added to the holiday feeling.

WiFi was available around the shop and bar area, although it didn’t extend to the pitches, which I wouldn’t have expected it to anyway.

We also enjoyed having a walk down the canal and stopping at a local pub for a drink, which was a lovely way to spend some time outside the campsite.


Overall, we had a fantastic stay. It’s a very relaxed, family-friendly site with good facilities and lots for the children to enjoy. We would definitely come back — it really had that lovely holiday vibe!

N'a pas aimé The only downside for us was that the site is situated next to a train line, so the trains could be heard during the night. However, by the second night we had become used to the noise and hardly noticed it.

A aimé Very rustic which is what I like and £20 is reasonable as didnt need EHU. The toilets were clean but didn't use the showers so can't comment on them. Basically picked our own pitch. Unfortunately, didn't do breakfast on the Friday morning as they had stuff to fix but the Mullberry cafe in the village does a wonderfil full breakfast for £11.50 (best i have had in a long time) and the latte was good too. The music on site was good and the pygmy goats were cute. Think there was 16 of them lol. The village was gorgeous and well worth a walk round. The 1000 year old church is stunning. Had a really good nights stay and was close to the M40 on the way back to Glasgow.

N'a pas aimé The only down side was its right next to a very busy railway line with trains running pretty much right through the night but didnt wake us up, and there were a lot of kids playing but we just parked in the back field to avoid the noise (ba humbugs I know 🤣)

A aimé Me and my daughter had the best time, originally booked for 1 night but we asked to add a second night because of how much fun we were having. We met another lovely family and my daughter and their child got on incredibly well. The kids love the independence of going to the shops, running wild in the outdoors which is how life should be. There is a shop on sight which is pretty well stocked tbf.

N'a pas aimé I’m pretty petite so I like to think, and I go to parks ALOT with my daughter and we use the swings together and never had a I ever had any issues with a swing breaking.

I wasn’t evening swinging on it I was sat on the swing for 3-5 minutes and it gave way. Very lucky it was me and not a child swinging very very high - could’ve ended in a very different way. And then they fixed it with tape and then I noticed it had broken again after that. So perhaps a stronger swing?!

A aimé I recently stayed at this campsite for 1 night with my friend and her son. What stood out most to me were the facilities, which felt more unique than what you’d typically find at other campsites.

There’s a small on-site shop, which was really convenient, and an outdoor bar with a sheltered seating area that created a great social atmosphere. In the evenings, there was music playing, not too late into the night so it added to the vibe without being disruptive.

One of the highlights was the animals on site. There were goats that you could feed by purchasing food from the shop for £1, which was a nice touch, especially for families. There were also birds to see, which added to the overall charm of the place.

The campsite had two separate toilet blocks, which helped keep things accessible and avoided long waits. Food options were also available, including pizza, burgers, and breakfast, which made things very convenient if you didn’t feel like cooking. An ice cream van arrived also which was nice as the weather was warm , till later was rain.

Overall, it’s a well-equipped campsite with a few extra touches that make it stand out from the usual experience.

N'a pas aimé However, there were a few downsides. There was no hand soap in the toilet facilities, and many of the waste bins were full, which affected cleanliness.

We also had an issue that unfortunately impacted our stay. There were several children playing near the goats and behaving inappropriately, including putting leaves into the goat enclosure, which is harmful to the animals. My friend’s son copied what the other children were doing, but only my friend was spoken to about it, despite other children being involved. This felt unfair and could have been handled better by addressing all of the children and parents rather than singling one out. I recommend adding cameras or a clearer sign about the leaves can be toxic.
