Fancy a farm stay, but not so keen on the idea of navigating little country lanes? Set off to Oxfordshire and The Old Dairy Farm Caravan and Camping: getting here involves a mere 10-minute detour from the M40 at Banbury. That location makes this a most handy spot for motorway stopovers, but there’s plenty around to please those who choose to stay longer too. However long you stay at this family-run farm, you’ll not want to miss out on meeting the pygmy goats and free-range chickens and peering into the aviary; once the kids have done that, send them off for a proper run about on the large recreational field to tire them out before bedtime. Handy too are the smart and well-maintained facilities, including a toilet block, showers, a washing-up area, water supply and Elsan point. The wood-fired pizza oven gets going on busy weekends (and it’s also available for private hire if you’re having a gathering). Don’t worry if there’s no pizza action while you’re here: it’ll take just a few minutes to walk to Cropredy’s pubs, cafés and shop (or its play park). It’s also possible to walk to the Oxford Canal and River Cherwell for waterside wanders, and a short drive will get you out into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for more walks, plus golf courses, fishing lakes and National Trust estates. In the main this is a peaceful site, but it's worth noting that a rail line passes fairly close by so you may hear a bit of noise from the pitches (or even spot trains – much to the delight of young rail enthusiasts).

喜欢 Its a large campsite with lots of space and pitches.Facilities are kept clean. Small animals and aviary add interest. Close to canal so convenient for walks.

不喜欢 There are lots of loos but only three showers. The site was quiet when we were there so this wasn't an issue but I imagine it could be in high season.
A busy railway line passes the site so there is quite a lot of noise.

喜欢 Large site with plenty of level parking. The prices for food and drinks are reasonable and the pizza was delicious.

不喜欢 The toilets and showers are tired and not that clean.

喜欢 Easy Check in process with warm greeting. Booked Electric 6 amp pitch for £25 per night, stayed 2 nights. The site is quite large but everything is close to the amenities. Nice pitch size and hedge on the side if you want it. Spacious and water attached on the pitch which was a great help. Free bouncy castle (think at the weekends) play ground and goats, football pitch for the kids. The bar was a great touch, open from 12 lunch till 9pm, had background music and Madri beer was brilliantly priced at £4.50. Well stocked shop and foot hut as well. Bought Logs at £7.00. The toilets were clean and the showers where electric and clean. The staff were helpful10 min into Banbury in an uber (Depending what time was around £7.50 each way). The village is less than a 10 min walk and has too pubs. If you want to catch the bus to banbury was told had to walk to village and the bus does not always turn up but we just took an uber. The ice cream van came round as well!! We will be back. Banbury is worth a visit and especially if you are craft beer lovers at The Apothecory Tap bar.

喜欢 The whole set up for a for a family was great! We had such a good weekend. Bouncy castles were a big hit. Food was lovely and good price and the bar was a definitely lovely added extra and again was really good priced.
The goats were gorgeous and found my daughter chatting to them for ages

不喜欢 Play area could do with a little love but absolutely did not affect enjoyment❤️❤️

喜欢 We picked a random area to go to for a weekend adventure and this was a great site to choose.
Family friendly site, a couple of play areas, bouncy castle, and goats ( feed to buy in the shop) and birds.
We were able to pitch close to the play area.
The shop, kitchen and bar are well stocked and there is a great outdoor seating area. The bar also plays some music in the evening but stops at a reasonable time. The children also loved hearing the train go by. Very friendly staff. Really easy to find the site.
Campfires are allowed if you purchase your fuel from the shop onsite

不喜欢 The toilets could do with a bit of maintenance, some of the seats in the ladies are broken and the doors don't shut properly.

Coming to the Cotswolds for a bit of fresh air and gentle activity? Set forth for fishing at Clattercote Reservoir, or tee off at Cherwell Edge Golf Course; both are about 10 minutes away by car. Country walking routes are plentiful too, of course, as are fine buildings to mooch around. Blenheim Palace (40 minutes’ drive) is perhaps the best known of all the Oxfordshire stately homes (and with good reason, for ’tis fab) but it’s worth taking a look at some others too, including Farnborough Hall (10 minutes), Sulgrave Manor (20 minutes) and Upton House and Gardens (20 minutes). For a break from the classic Cotswolds activities, head out to meet the big birds of Fir Tree Falconry (15 minutes) or sigh over all the shiny machines at the British Motor Museum (20 minutes). And if you’re in need of a tipple or two to accompany your barbecue back at base, there are some excellent local ones to be acquired at Hook Norton Brewery (25 minutes) and the Cotswolds Distillery (half an hour).
