What customers say

A great spot for families! Spacious, clean pitches and friendly staff are highlights. Kids love the animals and playground. Nice relaxed vibe and location, though some reckon facilities need a spruce-up. Train noise is a small thing for light sleepers. Good value, recommended.

10-amp powered grass site

Liked Easy check in , good size pitches, close to lovely village and pubs

Disliked Very tired looking facilities. Not enough bins, overall despite potential the place felt neglected and tired. Needs investment and enthusiasm to return it to it's potential.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Certainly not neglected or tired, we are constantly upgrading and have done since we opened a few years ago.
Maybe the look was due to your stay being during a thunder storm?

Unpowered grass site

Liked Relatively easy to find - but could do with a signpost on the main road.

Disliked Contradictory information in texts and e mails received - both of which came far too late. No facilities at all open on campsite late afternoon or early morning. No one in reception to guide to pitch or to clarify contradictory information. Very noisy - trains, livestock, other tents. Just felt very unsupervised, almost like wild camping, but for a price. Also, no food facilities at all in the village. All in all, a dreadfully disappointing stay.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: You were here during the week, with 3 other campers on site. Unfortunately these numbers are not worth running a bar/kitchen etc, it would create a huge loss. Shop is open on request 8-3pm.
Obviously not a regular camper if you expected different.
There is always someone onsite, and our number is clearly displayed.
A very harsh review from someone who obviously was expecting room service at this campsite.

10-amp powered grass site

Liked Absolutley great set up and everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Bar area and on-site shop for necessities, social sitting area and plenty of space for kids. The staff on-site are so friendly and helpful. The Top toilets and showers are great, clean and what you'd expect. Field toilets are a basic set up but it works and are convenient if you are at the far end of the site.

Just a lads get away this time, but are already planning to return with our families in a few weeks as the site has everything you could want from a for a camping trip.

10-amp powered grass site

Liked The site was well laid out, well maintained and the central facilities (bar, shop, cafe, seating area) were really helpful and looked great. The goats were adorable! We had loads of space on our two pitches and had no problems with the electrics

Local attractions

Coming to the Cotswolds for a bit of fresh air and gentle activity? Set forth for fishing at Clattercote Reservoir, or tee off at Cherwell Edge Golf Course; both are about 10 minutes away by car. Country walking routes are plentiful too, of course, as are fine buildings to mooch around. Blenheim Palace (40 minutes’ drive) is perhaps the best known of all the Oxfordshire stately homes (and with good reason, for ’tis fab) but it’s worth taking a look at some others too, including Farnborough Hall (10 minutes), Sulgrave Manor (20 minutes) and Upton House and Gardens (20 minutes). For a break from the classic Cotswolds activities, head out to meet the big birds of Fir Tree Falconry (15 minutes) or sigh over all the shiny machines at the British Motor Museum (20 minutes). And if you’re in need of a tipple or two to accompany your barbecue back at base, there are some excellent local ones to be acquired at Hook Norton Brewery (25 minutes) and the Cotswolds Distillery (half an hour).
