  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
What a whopper of a site. Award-winning activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site is set an aquadrome surrounded by water, so it has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is a seasonal swimming pool on site; one swimming session is permitted per day and has to be booked in advance. And speaking of the essentials... there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Liked Beautiful scenery and location was really good

Disliked Toilets and showers smelt. Staff member hiding in toilet instead of cleaning. No soap in dispenser.
Security waste of time, didn’t ask to see bands when registration couldn’t be read, just pressed the button in hut and let us through. What’s the point of having security.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We’re so pleased you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and our fantastic location we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such natural beauty and we’re glad that stood out to you.

That said, I’m truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. We take your comments regarding security very seriously and will be speaking with the full team to ensure the correct procedures are being followed at all times. Security is a key part of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all our guests.

I also apologise for the lack of soap in the shower blocks our Touring team should be checking and topping this up as part of their daily cleaning routine, and we’ll be reinforcing this moving forward.

As for the odour you mentioned, this can occasionally happen due to the natural surroundings we’re in. However, we absolutely aim to manage this where possible and keep our facilities clean and fresh at all times.

Thank you again for your comments feedback like this helps us continue to improve. We hope to welcome you back in the future for a more positive experience.

Great stay and lots to do for kids! Will be back for sure!

Liked Great facilities and lots included in price when booked.

Disliked No shop on site and online it said no tents allowed so our friends could not join but when we were there, there were numerous tents alone camping. So would be good to know if tents are allowed or not,

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we’re delighted you enjoyed the facilities and all the fantastic activities included when booking directly with us. From swimming to our entertainment programme, we’re proud to offer a great value experience for all our guests.

Just to clarify, we no longer allow camping or standalone tents at any of our parks. Awnings are permitted, but they must be attached to your vehicle at all times.

We're also pleased to let you know that our on-park shop will be opening very soon, making it easier for guests to pick up the essentials like bread and milk along with a few extra niceties!

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Liked Good size pitch clean toilets

From the manager: We’re absolutely dancing with the geese on Shelduck 3 after reading this thank you for the glowing 10/10!

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and are so pleased you’ve noticed the improvements from our freshly invested grass and hardstanding pitches to our brilliant Touring Team who keep everything running “spit spot” every day!

Your kind words mean the world and we can’t wait to welcome you back for more lakeside laughs and goose-approved adventures!

Liked Nothing

Disliked When we arrived the person in the pitch next to us took most of our pitch too, when I spoke to the staff they said they would come down and sort it out. I waited an hour for them and when they still didn’t come I found another pitch and just parked there.
There was dog poo everywhere, the toilets were disgusting, somebody puked at the back of our motor home.
People were driving like it was a racetrack even though there were children everywhere. We left a day early because it was so bad

From the manager: Thank you again for sharing more details I’m honestly so sorry to read this, and I completely understand why you left early. This is not the experience we ever want our guests to have, and I’m deeply disappointed to hear how your stay unfolded.

It’s unacceptable that you had to move pitches yourself after being told someone would come and assist you and then no one followed up. That should never have happened, and I am so sorry you were left to deal with that alone.

The cleanliness issues you experienced, including the dog mess and the vomiting near your motorhome, are shocking and absolutely not the standards we hold ourselves to. Our toilet and shower blocks are meant to be cleaned and checked regularly throughout the day, and I’ll be raising this directly with our team to understand what went wrong.

It’s also very concerning to hear about the driving behaviour on park. The safety of our guests especially children is a top priority, and I will be speaking with our Touring Manager and team about ensuring that speed limits and site rules are not just in place, but properly enforced.

I completely understand your frustration and your decision to leave early. You came here for a break, and instead you were met with stress, discomfort, and disappointment. I’m truly sorry that we let you down in so many ways.

Please know we are taking this seriously and will be addressing every point you’ve raised. Please feel free to reach out to us on enquiries@meadowbay.com

Liked Fantastic place looks like it could return back to as it was in the early days

Disliked It appears that it’s in administration may be wrong. Please make sure if you’re disabled he put you near toilet and shower block not a 15 minute walk or show a pity that there is no shop on site even to get the minimum essentials.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we're so pleased to hear you had a fantastic stay and that the park gave you that nostalgic feeling from the early days!

Just to reassure you, we are not in administration. We took over the park around a year ago and have been making significant investments to enhance every area for both holidaymakers and owners. Some of the exciting changes we've made so far include:

The arrival of our adorable new alpacas, who’ve already become a firm favourite with guests

Brand-new Azure Horizons glamping pods a stylish and unique way to stay

Stunning Platinum holiday homes with private decking and hot tubs

Lockers added to the swimming pool area for convenient and secure storage

The introduction of our Zen Den sensory room, a calm, inclusive space for guests needing a relaxing environment

A fantastic entertainment and activities programme designed for all ages

We’ve made huge progress in a short time and we’re only just getting started! There’s still so much more to come as we continue to develop and enhance the park.

We do understand your comment regarding the shop while it is not currently open, it is part of our improvement plans and will be coming soon.

And if you or a loved one have accessibility needs, we strongly encourage letting us know when booking, so we can do our best to place you near essential facilities like toilets and shower blocks.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback helps us continue to grow and improve and we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon!

Liked I highly recommend this place especially to parents with children, many attractions including a pool, fountains outside, a train in the park, playgrounds, all included in the price, and additionally paid attractions such as kayaks, etc. Defintelly come again

From the manager: Wow what a cracking review! Thank you so much!

It sounds like you and the little ones had an absolute blast from splashing in the pool and fountains to hopping on the park train and exploring the playgrounds. Music to our ears!

We’ve been busy making things even better… our swimming pool area now has fresh new shiny lockers all to make your splash time even more enjoyable. And that park train? It’s a total crowd-pleaser full of giggles and, let’s be honest, a lovely little breeze in this glorious sunshine!

Hearing that you’d “definitely come again” has made our day that’s exactly what we love to hear!

We can’t wait to welcome you all back for another round of fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

Not for us, too big, too commercial and not managed properly!

Liked That all the lunatics left on Sunday giving us a peaceful night!
Kids paradise with lots of activities.

Disliked Check in - Disorganised with staff telling you where to go on the campsite but no direction which way to park your vehicle, the first 2 pitches we were given were already taken. Eventually told to park how and where we wanted.
Ablutions- Toilets and showers kept reasonably clean but ran out of toilet paper and were disgusting in the morning but this reflected the type of clientele that visit this site.
Noise - There is apparently security on the site but they were invisible, There are very large groups all over the site who were clearly there to party hard! Whilst I have no problem with this the cut off time of 2300hrs was completely ignored and their kids were left to run feral all over the site, Saturday night saw several younger kids on electric bikes riding around at high speeds between ghe pitches screaming until after midnight with no control by either staff or parents.
Prices - Whilst you expect prices on a commercial site to be high expecting people to pay over £5 for a can of Thatchers cider ( which is currently on sale for 90p a can in Tesco) is extortionate. Additionally there are charges for just about everything that they can think of, even a swim in the lake costs £7!!!
Site - Clearly the new management are investigating in the site by upgrading the electrics and new ablutions however, the site is 'scarred' with the ditches left over from the work with ruts running across the site where it hasn't been finished properly and stagnant water outside the ablutions where there are leaks underneath thd cabins!
Clientele- The owners no longer accept tents on the site quoting the need to improve the quality of visitors, however, unless you can get drunk by mid day and have every bit of your body covered in tattoos you will be out of place here !!!

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m very sorry to read your comments, as this is certainly not the kind of feedback we want to receive.

We have a full Touring Team in place, including a dedicated Touring Manager, whose role is to ensure a smooth and professional arrival process for all our touring guests. We are currently awaiting the delivery and installation of new signage and individual pitch numbering, which will significantly reduce confusion at check-in going forward. We're sorry if the process fell short during your stay.

With regards to the toilet and shower blocks, our team carries out regular checks and cleaning throughout the day to maintain hygiene and stock supplies. If you encountered the facilities in a poor state, I sincerely apologise this should not have happened, and we will look into what went wrong at that time.

Our Welcome Team is present 24/7 and conducts frequent walkarounds to monitor behaviour, assist guests, and ensure the park rules are being followed. The vast majority of our holiday guests are respectful and here to enjoy a well-earned break we're proud of the community we welcome to the park. However, on rare occasions, some guests may cause disruption. If this happens, our team acts swiftly to resolve it.

We are aware that there is a public footpath near the park, and while this is outside of our direct control, we do monitor it closely and remove any unauthorised individuals when identified.

Regarding pricing we continually benchmark to ensure our offering is fair and in line with similar holiday parks. Revenue from park sales supports ongoing investment, and we’ve already reinvested millions back into improvements, including new facilities, upgraded power infrastructure, and modernised amenities. We know we still have work to do, but we are proud of the significant progress already made and we’re far from finished.

Some areas may still have visible works or temporary materials on site this is a result of the scale of our improvements, and we appreciate your patience while we bring our vision to life.

Finally, we were especially disappointed to read your general comments regarding other guests. We celebrate the diversity of our visitors, and we respectfully ask all guests to approach one another with kindness and consideration. Our park welcomes families, couples, and individuals from all walks of life, and we’re proud of the inclusive and friendly environment we strive to maintain.

If you’d like to discuss any of this further, please feel free to contact us. We’re here to help, and we always welcome constructive feedback.

Liked Lovely campsite with lots to do

Disliked Facilities wasn’t the best I.e no kitchen facilities and had to walk a distance to the toilets as we was on the furthest campsite

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback we’re truly devastated to hear you were disappointed. What a shame, as we always aim to give every guest a great experience.

I’d love to understand more about your comment regarding the kitchen facilities, as this isn’t something we usually receive concerns about. We do have a park map available on our website which shows the layout, including pitch locations and where to find key facilities such as the shower block.

We really hope to welcome you back and offer the relaxing stay you were hoping for.

Retreat 1 bedroom cabin (hot tub, no pets)

Liked We stayed in the cabin with hot tub. Amazing! Loved the cabin, had everything we needed. Hot tub was clean, and when there were some flies in it a nice man scooped them out for us.
Unfortunately the pizza and burger trucks weren't open, leaving not many options on site for food but there was a pub nearby.

Disliked We ran out of toilet paper so had to buy our own

From the manager: Thank you so much for your feedback we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay!

Our Retreat Glamping Pods have been a great hit this season, just as we’d hoped! We wanted to offer our holiday guests something a little different, while still keeping that sense of luxury private decking and your very own hot tub included.

As we’re set within a beautiful natural park, we do occasionally get the odd fly or two, but we’re really glad to hear our team were quick to help and got it sorted for you.

We’re sorry to hear that food options were limited during your stay. Depending on the time of year, some of our facilities have reduced opening hours, especially during quieter off-peak times but we completely understand how this can be a little disappointing. We’ll certainly take this on board.

All in all, we’re so happy you loved the cabin and hot tub experience we really hope to welcome you back again soon!
