Everyone off to Porto: Portugal's second biggest city is a place of world-famed wines, gorgeous port (of course), the bars and restaurants of the Ribeira area, and old, old sites like the Palácio da Bolsa. To stay within simple reach of Porto while still avoiding big-city prices, have a break at Parque Orbitur Angeiras, 16 kilometres north of town. It's a peaceful and green Porto spot, surrounded by trees and bushes and opposite the beach in the fishing village of Angeiras. A bus stop is close to the site. Spectacular Portuguese sands, the dunes of Mindelo and the vineyards of the Douro Valley are all easy to get to from here; on site, there's a pool and a paddling pool, a tennis court, a multisports pitch, a playground and a TV room. A mini market is also to hand, but you'll probably prefer to have bites to eat at the restaurant, popular with Angeiras locals. Amenities include washrooms with showers, toilets and disabled facilities.

Liked: Nice camping with pool and shop

Disliked: Old campsite not suitable for motorhomes
Roads are narrow
Lady in the reception pointed to us the pitch that was occupied by a tent. Next to it you could not park. Another space was occupied by a car so we stayed in the middle of the road
During check out I was supposed to wait for 15 mins to drop the card
Our 2 kids went to toilet and cleaning lady locked them there for 45 minutes. We were running around looking for them everywhere in panic. Janitor went slowly with the spare key and opened the door.
Bathrooms really really dirty.

Liked: The site was fairly quiet, it was helpful to have the children’s bathrooms with the bath. Proximity to the beach was quite near.

Disliked: The plots felt a little cramped and we were told that it’s better to pack personal belongings away in the evening because of theft which made us instantly feel more uncomfortable and unsure. There isn’t good transport links to Porto so we ended up having to drive there.

Liked: Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und obwohl die Rezeption noch geschlossen war durften wir schon auf den Platz fahren. Im oberen Bereich sind die Plätze schön parzelliert und relativ gerade. Wegen der Weihnachtszeit war es nett dekoriert.

Disliked: Das Sanitärgebäude im oberen Bereich ist zwar sauber, aber die Wände und die Decke total verschimmelt. Schwarzer Schimmel (!). Die Duschköpfe sind verkalkt und spritzen. Was gut funktioniert sind die Hähne an den Waschbecken. Ansonsten war man bemüht alles sauber zu halten. Fluglärm ab 6 Uhr morgens.

Local attractions

Several beaches are close by, including Angeiras beach opposite the site, Labruge beach two kilometres north and São Paio beach within three and a half kilometres in the same direction. The dunes of Mindelo are also worth their eight-kilometre trip for a flit around their ornithological reserve. Take the bus from outside the site to reach Porto in about an hour, to mooch around its many attractions including the Palácio da Bolsa, the Fundação de Serralves and the historic Ribeira area, with its many bars dishing up local cuisine. The city's most famed of course for its port wine (the clue is in the name), so wander around the plentiful port cellars too, to see how it's all made and to sample the many different and mighty tasty varieties. If you now have a thirst for learning more about Portugal's wine, take a day trip to the Douro Valley to visit the vineyards there surrounded by their spectacular scenery. Other destinations for day trips include the lively city of Braga and its 12th-century cathedral, and Guimarães, to take a cable car ride over the historic streets. Both cities are around 50 kilometres away.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Modifications are subject to a €10.00 (£8.44) fee.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
