Great location on a cycle path and within a short walk of the magnificent dunes. Staff were very friendly and there was a general feel of spaciousness about the site. It was great (and different to many sites) to have a disposal point that was so accessible.

    Disliked:

The toilet and washing facilities were ok but needed some updating

This is our first experience of Portugal, Orbitur parks and staying in a motorhome so wasn't sure exactly to expect (online research only). Yes, it's crowded compared to our usual tent, wild camping, but to be expected in August in Portugal so wasn't disappointed. Everyone was very friendly, relaxed and we enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Even our children commented on how polite and friendly staff and "neighbours" were.

The facilities here are adequate. The pool never too crowded although we can't comment during the day as we were out exploring the area. A small shop provided essentials. The showers were good, the toilets usually clean although the toilet paper ran out each morning.

Lovely beaches within a short, or longer, walk and a fabulous sunset. The bus stop is right outside the gates enabling us to leave the motorhome and go to less accessible places.

    Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant campsite not far from the beach with good amenities. Nice pool, clean toilet block, small shop, bar and wifi. Supermarkets a short drive away. Local town worth a wonder around. Beach a short walk (uphill on the way home). Other beaches a short drive away.

We asked for a gravel pitch as didn't want to be in the sand dunes under the trees, great for tents but not so good with our van.

It's our second visit and we would go back again. 'TheBaileys'

Convenient nice area for visiting Cascáis,Sinatra, Lisbon etc.

    Disliked:

First night ate at cafeteria, huge mistake, the “steak” was like leather, looked as though it had been cooked in a microwave, the vegetables were cold. Returned and the cook brought out second offering, no better.
People washing pots etc in washbasins, from what we observed the taps had been taken from outdoor dishwashing area.
Collecting tissue thin toilet paper from roll before entering toilet, and the container was locked as though it was precious paper.
The showers were ok standing on a metal grill above the drainage channel, but under grill needed a good scrub as scum accumulated.
New addition outside cafeteria were rattan sofas and coffee tables under pagodas, however warning signs on all stating no food or drink allowed while sitting there. What are they for then?
    No WiFi unless near cafeteria.

Local attractions

Parque Orbitur Guincho's setting near Cascais, Estoril and Sintra is a smashing part of Portugal, nicknamed the Portuguese Rivera for its long lengths of beaches, sunny skies and clear blue waters. Well known for its surfing and windsurfing, local beach Guincho is a regular host for watersports events including the Portuguese National Surfing and BodyBoarding Championships.

Among the many other options nearby are trips around the small villages of the region like Areia, Charneca, Figueira do Guincho and Biscaia; exploring Cabo de Roca and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and hiking and wildlife watching among the Sintra mountain range, running for just over 16 kilometres from Sintra to Cabo da Roca.

And then there's first-rate Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in the world and the oldest in western Europe. Several days here are recommended if you can manage it, for world-famed attractions like the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, the downtown district of Pombaline Baixa, the Moorish  Castle of São Jorge, and a few dozen museums including the National Museum of Ancient Art and the Roman Theatre Museum.
