The brains behind Camp La Belle Vie say they'd like you to feel the force of nature – and feel it you most certainly will, thanks to the site’s open countryside setting in eastern Luxembourg’s lush ‘Little Switzerland’ hiking region. Not that it’s just about the trekking here. Simply basking on the grass at this peaceful park is also a top choice – the place has been set up on a gentle slope (part of a hillside rising 373 metres into the sky), and faces south for getting the best of the weather on sunny days. Plonk yourself down and supervise the kids at the site’s adventure playground, perhaps chomping on cheese from the fromagerie a couple of minutes’ walk down the road in Berdorf as you do. Surrounded by a stunning landscape of fields and forests with rocks, caves and brooks to dawdle around, and looking out on the Black Ernz, Sure and Aesbech valleys, Berdorf’s one of Luxembourg’s main tourist centres. The scenery’s stunning whether you’re wandering close by to the Hohllay Cave and Aquatower Berdorf, both less than 15 minutes’ walk away, or setting forth for the famed Müllerthal Trail through silt marshes with soul-stirring viewpoints to stop off at. With this site as your base, you’ll be well set up for explores, and for the post-explore recovery period: there’s a shop, laundry facilities and wifi connection on site, along with well-maintained bathrooms that have both cold and hot water.

Liked Het sanitaire was heel goed in orde.
Het entertainment van de speeltuin, cafeetje, winkel en friterie is zeer goed. De jonge dame aan het onthaal was zeer vriendelijk en bekwaam. Ze kon heel goed Engels spreken.
Er zijn ook veel accomodaties naast de tent of camper plekken waar ik ook in zou verblijven.

Liked Vriendelijkheid aan de receptie

Disliked De eerste plaats die we toegewezen kregen, diepe bandensporen en modder, hier konden we met onze camper niet gaan staan. Aan de receptie een andere plaats gevraagd en gekregen maar hier ook drassige ondergrond maar net haalbaar na enkele planken onder onze negen te hebben gestoken.
Ook de wifi let te wensen over, eigenlijk bijna geen bereik. behalve aa het bovenste sanitair blok, daar werkte het wel goed.

Liked Large pitches with big hedges between rows. Excellent location for starting hikes. Lovely, helpful customer service.
Underfloor heating in showers.

Disliked The site is currently being modernised; new pipes around the site, new static carravans ect., so unfortunatly most of the campsite looked like a building site. There was diggers and tractors moving around from 9am-5pm on weekdays. Staff were very appologetic about the noise caused by the work.
The pitches were waterloged dispite a dry spell and several campervans had to be pulled off their pitches.

Liked De camping is gemakkelijk te bereiken met de bus. Het winkeltje van de camping heeft goede wandelkaarten beschikbaar.
Onze staplaats keek uit op de velden die je op weg brengen naar een van de mullerthal trekpaden. Het personeel heeft ons bijgestaan met praktische informatie om onze wandel ervaring te optimaliseren.
Een eerste kampeer ervaring van mijn echtgenoot werd een succes door de gastvrijheid en de beschikbaarheid van het personeel.

Berdorf’s rich in things to do. Start with a wander to Hohllay Cave (15 minutes' walk), hollowed out by miners who left a scarred surface behind in their quest to conjure up rounded millstones. Sort tickets for a concert in this natural amphitheatre – they're on every now and again – then head over to the Aquatower Berdorf, a technology museum in a water tower with smashing views out over the green landscape (15 minutes). Once you’re back down on the ground, drive to Echternach (10 minutes), the oldest town in the Grand Duchy, and snake around the winding streets seeking out city wall remnants, the Benedictine abbey and a gothic townhouse before moving over to the lake on the town’s perimeter to rove around the ruins of the biggest Roman villa north of the Alps. From here, continue to the German-Luxembourgish Nature Park (25 minutes’ drive) to amble around the deep Devil's Gorge and pretty Irreler Waterfall.
