Camping de Thoissey - Val de Saône

Liked View was amazing from the restaurant overlooking the river and pools at night! Great pool and plenty of space on pitches. Showers and toilets were clean
and there was plenty of washing up sinks.

Disliked Not the campsites fault entirely BUT hot water was hit and miss because a large group of Bulgarians decided that it was was day and were using the sinks next to the sanitary block instead of the washing machine facility to do what seemed an entire weeks worth of washing, even at 430am when we woke for the toilet they were still washing clothes.

Liked Good pool.

Disliked Extremely noisey campsite. The onsite music was extremely loud despite being a good distance away. The onsite summer camps meant there were at least 40 children aged between 5 and 15 running around the site seemingly unattended; the toilets were constantly full of children running, screaming and turning my the lights / water on and off. When walking in groups there seemed to be one adult to around 20 children. This went on from around 7am until at least 12.30am! I would avoid this site during the summer holidays for this reason. On site pool bar and snack hit by reception were not selling hot food during our stay which was inconvenient. Most people agreed they wouldn’t stay for longer than a few nights.

In fact, in July only, we welcome children that don't have the opportunity to go in Holliday with their family. However we do put importance for the respect of the rules and the quiet time. We do had complains and this group has been banned from the camspite. The snack serves hot food during lunch time.

Liked Food on site. Reliable good amperage electricity. Easy pitching on large pitches.
Free access to public swimming pool by site. Helpful staff with good English spoken. Very pleasant quiet location by river. Much to do in the area but equally a good location for an overnight stay. Good tarmac main site roads produced no dust.

Disliked Pitch numbering could be clearer as some are a little overgrown. Due to random pitching by others site electric boxes could be full. Wifi by reception was slightly inconvenient.

Liked Grote ruime plaatsen. Doen niet moeilijk wat het erop wilt zetten.

Disliked Sanitair gebouw niet echt schoon.
Camping mag overal beter worden onderhouden

Restaurant bij de camping kwaliteit eten prima. Systeem echter op zondag niet ons ding. Vooraf betalen keuze uit mosselen of hamburger en afhalen bij een ander loket. Voor een nachtje was het prima.

Op zondagavond serveren we in ons restaurant speciaal mosselen met friet. Op de andere dagen is onze gewone menukaart beschikbaar.

Wat het sanitair betreft: onze excuses als dit niet schoon was. Het wordt twee keer per dag schoongemaakt, maar de netheid hangt helaas ook af van het respect van iedere gast.

Liked Clean, relaxing site with good facilities. For those with bikes, excellent access to the cycle path along the river. A short walk or cycle onto Thoissey village with a nice little shop, boulangerie, bar and a few restaurants. Site has a public pool which you have free access to as reception will give you cards. Pool is lovely. Restaurant above wasn't busy. Bar by river was a great pit stop. Night market on Wednesday was lovely. Toilets clean - take your own loo roll! Showers good. Lots of French families enjoying their stay and always happy to wave and smile at the funny little Brits ( a rare breed here).
Little beaches off river (you need to cycle or walk there) for your own dip or cool down for pooches.

Disliked No where to fill up the van with water as taps were push down rather than twist.
Lots of old, shabby caravans that weren't being used.

Liked Prima camping voor doorreis of een paar dagen. Wij waren hier 2 nachten en hebben het erg naar zin gehad. Het was wel oud maar zeker gezellig. Beetje kneuterig met wc onder je oksel naar toilet gebouw. Toiletblok was oud maar schoon.
Rustig, heel fijn zwembad, leuk restaurantje bij het zwembad en het plekje bij de rivier achter de receptie waar je wat kunt eten en drinken vonden wij in de avond zeer gezellig. Vriendelijke medewerkers.
Leuke route om te wandelen of fietsen langs de rivier. Mooie dorpjes in de buurt.

Disliked Ik vond het prima. Toilet gebouw wat verouderd, wc papier zelf meenemen en douches met druk knop.
